What's the most STUPID rule a sponsors have?
I just signed up to some sponsor and I can't promote it because you are not allowed to RENAME the fucking pics....
WTF is this stupid ass rule fuck that! Any more stupid rules sponsors have? |
thats pretty dumb, as pic renaming is good for SEO in some cases
|
It's not really a stupid rule ... it's due to thier licensing ..

never to talk about their program on any forum other than their own.

One amusing one I was hit with.
-25%(or similar # below 50%) of your trials must convert for you to be paid $40 per signup. (But the only way to tell they weren't converting is if you didn't recieve a check, and that was also stated in their terms as the way to find out) ZoiNk |
if you promote anyone else you wont get paid!
The above is not for free content use btw.. seen it way back sopmplace. |

The Suze program drives me nuts. I understand that the renaming issue is to protect their content; but I cannot use her file names with my scripts.

Epic Cash reserves the right not to pay if more than 40% of trials do not convert to full membership
How fucking dumb are these people? Sure I will send them 100 sign ups a week This is as fucking dumb as a sponsor can ever be |

And about that sponsor that doesnt let you rename files. Thats the stupidest shit I've ever heard. |
Something to the effect of:
"You may not use a PO BOX as your address or you will not be paid" Hmmm. Saw that and said "forget it". Don't remember who, all I can say is check the terms. It's sad what some try to pull. EPIC, do you guys provide a way for us to check the productivity of the trial conversions ? |

Why would a legit webmaster or company use a PO BOX instead his own address? PO BOXes are used by carders and various scammers. I would be careful as well on this. |

Many individual webmasters do ot have a seperate office and that would mean that they would be forced to use their own home address. Considering the industry, spam and such, and that if they have kids, I could see where this could become problematic. More so if you hide the adult nature of your business (which many do) from others. Besides, it is good to seperate business and personal mail entirely at the source. On the legitmacy of PO BOXes being used, I can say that many of my banks and credit card companies use them for contact and payment addresses. |
struggle7, cheques coming from adult sponsors do not differ at all from any other cheque someone can receive. It's impossible to see if it's related with the adult industry. You just receive normal envelopes, nothing more and I don't see anyone that can have a problem about it. Kids, spam etc do not apply on this.

For me, I won't be using my home address for anything adult (or even business - I do mainstream too) related and if that means avoiding a sponsor, so be it. I find the rule to be stupid, of course others are free to disagree with me. No problem, you know? Have a happy new year. :) |

Payments will be in the form of a check in US dollars payable to you, as identified in your application, and will be mailed to the street address indicated in your application (we will not mail to P.O. Boxes!!). Many sponsors deny to send payments to PO Boxes. If you didn't know that then probably you never read TOS. It's not rare. I don't say that there are no legit uses of them and that no legit webmasters can receive payments there, but lack of physical address is an alert sign for many sponsors due to past bad experiences. |

Also there are ways to get around the "po box" issue soul_rebel. There are plenty of services in the US that offer to accept mail and give you a "suite #."
But to just say that you can't see why a "legitimate" company or webmaster uses a p.o. box is to lump a lot of "legitimate" companies in with scammers. There are so many legitimate concerns for not accepting business related mail at your house. One that hasn't even been addressed here is zoning issues. In some places you are not supposed to run a business out of your house regardless of what type it is...and if you do there are so many license qualifications you have to meet. Having a po box of mail pick up is also just another layer of protection in order to seperate personal property from business property when you don't have a seperate office. Upon lawyers advice I was instructed to set up my business this way. Mail in one section of town, my business license in a "license hang" in another part of town...basically the idea is to keep any law enforcement or government agents *city, county, federal* from entering my residence. They have NO reason to visit me here..and if I produced content rent a small office just to maintain 2557 documents...just layers of protection from a variety of prying eyes. |
