Are .biz and .us domain names worth getting at all.

do they show up in searches a lot?

I believe they are in equilibrium with .com, .net, .org, etc.

True with .com but would you say .biz and .us would come up on searches 50% ofthe time compared to .com 25%? just seeing if it gets pick up at all.

I think it does not affect your page rank and relevance all that much, but I am concerned that people will not remember the suffix. I would hate to promote a site and have all the type-ins go to the .com doppleganger.

Please post input if you have/had on of these domains. I am curious too.

A lot of google spammers seem to favor .us and other oddball top level domains. Generally .com is by far the best for branding memorability or type-in traffic, but I don't think non-dot-coms are penalized by google or other SEs. In fact there may be some advantage to them, based on their being used by google spammers a lot. Not sure what the advantage would be, maybe google can't get whois info on them as easily or something, if that's a factor in their SE spam detection algorithm.
