faster web surfing
I remember hearing once that IE only downloads a max of 1 or 2 things per site at a time. There was a way to change this so sites with a ton of images could load them all at the same time, making web surfing to a lot faster. Anyone know how to do this?

Sure, go get Firebird or mozilla...

I dunno but it seems like there would be somewhere in the registry that allows you to override that. I know you can have the download manager download more than the 2 simultaneous download limit but I'm not sure about the browser.

A simple registry hack will change this: Under: [HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentV ersionInternet Settings] [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVe rsionInternet Settings] Add the following: MaxConnectionsPerServer dword 32 MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server dword 32 Make their value something like 8 (I think you can set it as high as 64). Although this breaks compliance with HTTP1.1/1.0, it can make IE faster overall, as this also affects the downloading of images. Also note that this will affect other applications that use HTTP.

Theres a key you can change in your registry to allow you to do more than 2 simultaneous downloads, google that and you should be able to find it
don't know if it will make pages themselves load faster |
Here's a .reg file that will increase your IE download limit to 10 :)
