that would be sweet!

.....but just thinking about thousands of drunken seattle drivers on new years in the snow makes me shudder....

Ive never seen worse snow drivers (myself included) in my life than in seattle.....

you can never appreciate snow to its fullest until you have to drive in it, on a cold dark morning, trying to get to work on time.

BoNgHiTtA 12-30-2003 11:16 PM

Hell yeah, I found out it was snowing from GFY, then I looked outside and see it coming down!

Just a little update for those that care, it's now more than an inch deep in downtown Seattle. I know the people in the east and midwest are just laughing at us, but if you knew that this city has no defense against snow you'd understand. Watching people try to drive in very wet (the kind we get) is insane. It's like driving on ice.

Vitasoy 12-31-2003 01:38 AM

we finally got snow here too :)

Sifu 12-31-2003 01:39 AM

:thumbsup

I'm fairly new to Western WA. We moved here in August 2001 from a 30-something years in California. I love the snow, but I wouldn't do well in any more than we get here. A couple inches I can handle. Feet? Not so much.

What surprised me most about the idea of snow/icy driving in Seattle is that I never considered it to be very hilly in Seattle. I grew up in and around San Francisco, so I knew how to drive on hills. Until I tried to get up to Trader Joe's in Queen Anne on an icy morning. I'm seriously surprised I didn't hurt anybody. :)

We were just out walking around our new house (our first) and admiring our first snow here. It's wonderful. Even better that we're not driving anywhere in the morning. :)

AaronM 12-31-2003 02:23 AM

If I want snow then I will go to the ski resorts. This blows. I'm goona be pissed if my flight is delayed.

BoNgHiTtA 12-31-2003 02:25 AM

I can't beleive its still coming down. And I live on a hill, and it looks like some moron ran into the sidewall near my house.

I love it!

Centurion 12-31-2003 02:29 AM

And at 1:30 am..it's still comming down.
Live on Capitol Hill, and it's a bear trying to get around by car right now. Glad I don't have to go to work tomorrow!

I may hate the snow but I don't mind driving in it when there is nobody else around. Since I can't sleep....Maybe I should pull the Jeep out of the garage and take it for a spin.

Just don't decide THEN to finally fall asleep! :)

4 inches or so in Federal Way and I'm 2 blocks from Puget Sound so near sea-level and usually a few degrees warmer in the winter than right in town. My shihtzu, Chloe, has had a blast tonight. She didn't know whether to eat the snow, make it yellow, or chase snowballs.

Glad I wasn't planning on driving around tomorrow night. I hate driving on New Years let alone New Years with icey roads and crazy drivers.

Looks fun. My days of going out on New Years are long gone. I had 3 friends die coming home from a party a few years back when a drunk slammed into them head on.

I have plenty of Dom here and stuff to make butter nipples and mimosas for the next morning. Gonna get a few snack trays tomorrow afternoon. Take my boys, one's GF and the other's best friend to dinner nearby early in the evening.. then head home to watch DVDs and catch the fireworks in Seattle from my deck.

myjah 12-31-2003 07:27 PM

wish it was here! hoping we get some too before it all gets gone!

C_U_Next_Tuesday 12-31-2003 07:57 PM
