President Bush is the most admired
man in America...and Senator Clinton is the most admired woman in America...as reported by a magazine...as reported by the news. I did not catch the name of the magazine...does anyone know which magazine is reporting this?
|
I believe it was a CNN-USA Today-Gallup poll

That is very, very sad and pathetic.

I always wonder who gets polled... or if they are fixed. I mean everyone I talk to on the street... friends, family what ever all hate him. Do they only count the people that like these people? |
he was picked by 29% of those polled. There sure are lots of ignorant people. How come I never get polled?

You must live in a very small world or your definition of the word hate is maybe extreme. To know no one who dislikes any current leader of any FREE country is virtually impossible. But it's stange who came top in the poll. A man who sent thousands to die on the slimmest of reasons and a woman who stood by while her husband screwed around, so she could be/remain first lady. When she found out he was getting blow jobs from interns did she walk out? Maybe morals and ethics are not strong points in the US or at least where they do the polls. |

I know what the meaning of the word "hate" is and I did not say that I do not know anyone that "dislikes" President Bush...but for the majority...their dislike is based upon the Presidents policies and not the man. "Morals/ethics" are not global...but are subjective. |
they must be f*ckin' kidding!

He's a pretty good president. He's already accomplished more in one term than Clinton did in two.

Yes he has accomplished a lot, the dollars drop, the defecit grew and he got richer. Quite an accomplishment. Let's face it if Bush jnr is the best the US can do out of the millions who live there it's a very sorry state of affairs. The problem is Americans might vote for him again just because of the lack of a credible alternative. |
paul, we don't really know for sure why ms clinton stayed with her husband. for some reason, in the u.s. women are seen as good people if they stay with their cheating spouses. those women see THEMSELVES as good people, too.
i'd say it's even seen as moral. |
At least it wasn't Michael Jackson and Courtney Love -- although if it were, I'm not sure which would be the most admired man and which the woman....

I believe Jesus should be the most admired man in America, if all those who most influenced the American way of life base their spiritual beliefs on him, including the presidents.
Jesus died while fighting for free speech, against the religious right and the Roman government. He forgave anyone who asked. He made the most sense of life, and how to live, than anyone else I can think of. I don't always live according to how Jesus taught, but I would like to someday, and I admire him the most out of anyone in history. |

all the same, if you have links to the polls you refer to then by all means post them. i'm not a complete pessimist. |
this is not unexpected, its usually the sitting president, no matter how badly they suck, that is selected as the most admired
