Need legal advice
Imagine you can find enough photos from a known porn star to start a single girl site. Is it legal to do so without her written permission?
I don't want to promote it as "official site" or register the domain as firsname-lastname.com but as an "unofficial tribute site" dedicated to that porn star and register the domain as sexy-firstname.com or something similar. I know some names are very well protected (Jenna Jameson, for example). All constructive answers are welcome and appreciated. :thumbsup |
only if it appears at www.matrixcontent.com

If you use a photograph without the copyright holders permission you are breaking the law. well that's the simple answer.
But if you want to do a FAN site, you might want to contact the model or studio/studios they work for. They might help you, give you some content and advise. They are always looking for more exposure. I say MIGHT, so don't demand it ask for it nicely. |
You better talk to her manager before you do it, but much more important will be to talk to the owner of the copyrights to the photos and videos you like to use. Most of the pornstars do not own the copyrights of there names, photos and videos!!!
Mostly the girls are owned by a production company, so talk to them |

if you are 100% free you could probably get away with it. otherwise you are going to have to make sure you legally licensed all those pics. |
Thank you very much for your answers.
I am not collecting pics from the web for my site. I want to buy (license, to be more correct) pics and videos from well established content providers. What I mean is if I use legal content, can I use (not abuse) the girlīs name on a pay site fully dedicated to her? |

But you are allowed to download his site and use it, he said so. :1orglaugh |

As Paul said, if you hold a legal licence there should be no problem at all with this.

Yes, you got the point. Somethings may be abusive, like registering ariagiovanni.com (sorry, not available) or mislead surfers claiming it is an official site or calling her a bitch or something. The whole point of the question is about using a domain such as sexy-aria.com, for example. Returning to the Jenna Jameson example I read a while ago that even her first name is trademarked so it is not possible to do so, but I donīt know if this is a common practise. |

i hope for you that you own the license to the pics

No its not legal...UNLESS you were going to do it for
1) non commercial purposes 2) review or news type of content 3) altered or censored pics Quote:
