Anyone get an assload of spam from a Dollarmachine/Platinumbucks/Quickbuck affiliate?

I checked my email and I had 4 emails pushing Dollarmachine sites, 3 pushing Platinumbucks sites, 2 pushing NastyDollars sites and 1 pushing a Quickbucks site.

I'm assuming they were all sent from the same person as they were all sent to a non-existant email account. My server redirects messages sent to a non-existant to an existant account.

Obviously, I never opted-in for this shit.

So, am I the only one?

#1 - My catch-all account doesn't get spam. And my filters get rid of 95% of the spam to my other accounts.

#2 - I can't say for sure, but I doubt any of those programs allow their affiliates to spam.

#3 - Ten emails pushing ten sites from the same person sent to a non-existant email account is a bit much.

These guys would be busy writing resumes if they didn't allow spam.

i don't doubt it. i'm surprised with his answer.

most programs would have said something along the lines of "forward the email to me or give me the affiliate's id and we'll term him" in order to look good on the forums and then do nothing.

Of course they do....odds are a good percentage of it is either from them directly, or bought bulk mails.....:2 cents:

It's not from them, unless they're mailing out for other programs too. I only received one Quickbuck ad though.

Now the guy is running through Silvercash sites. I've received 20 emails so far. At least if the email account existed, he could claim I opted in somewhere.

:1orglaugh

At least one of those programs actually provide spam landing pages for all their affiliates, the others are equally built on spam.

Why do people assume such stupid things?

I just checked the terms and conditions of each program, and they all forbid unsolicited bulk email. Opt-in email is a different story. When I typed the message, I was under the impression it was unsolicited. Now I know most programs will take any email in high volumes, publicly, they refuse the email, so that's what I was getting at.

Turns out one of my surfers had followed a Join4Free link from my site and signed up with false info using my domain as the email address. The list was sold to someone else who mailed the list.

Battuss, I don't think it's the same person, but contact [Brian] on this forum to double check.

i was a bit groggy there, but i meant was "i'm well aware that most programs accept spam traffic if it converts, but they'll publicly deny it"

Yuppers!

Kimmykim 01-23-2004 11:55 PM

psyko, I dont think there's much connection between the programs you listed as far as working together. No hostility either by any means, but no real camaraderie...

I'd figure it is actually an affiliate mailing and I'd have sent support at each of those an email, so they are aware of it.

There's more than one way to skin a cat ;)

psyko514 01-24-2004 01:02 AM

hey kimmy :) i didn't think the spam was coming from them. i knew it was from an affiliate. once he saw this message, he contacted me on icq and we straightened things out.

Providing bullet proof spam landing pages in everyone's stats section counts as publicly to me. :)
