Good Unix/Linux security resources?

I am looking for some good UNIX/Linux security resource sites including security alert emails, tips and patch info.

I lost my security guy and I think I have to long relied on other people to check my server security.

It depends on how you want to monitor security. For example, if you rely on your OS vendor for patches, you don't really need to know much except how to use your OS vendor's update utility, or where to find your OS vendors security reports.

Of course, you should watch cert.org for early reports, and temporary workarounds while you are waiting for updates from your OS vendor.

You also need general knowledge about system security, but a good rule of thumb is don't run any software you don't 100% need to run on your server.

Which OS are you running?

Subscribe to bugtraq at securityfocus.com and check out this thread at linuxquestions.org which has a comprehensive set of links for getting into security.

Be warned though... it is a huge area and can be a real time trap once you get into it. :winkwink:
