its based on the internet explorer program but there are many more options..

IE6 and Opera if IE fucks up.

I've been getting too many browser hijacks using IE6 and was told that Mozilla may be best.

Looking for suggestions.

mozilla firebird 0.7 used to use internet explorer, but got tired of all the browser hijacks, but still use it just for checking my site.

IE and Netscape Communicator for e-mail (safe from all the worms that infect Microsoft Outlook).

Mozilla all the way. I can't believe how many webmasters still use IE with all the spyware and hijacking bullshit that other webmasters are doing to people.

As pointed out above there are other reason to still use IE...such as a majority of surfers still use it and you should check to see how your sites load up.

I test all my pages with IE6 and XP but that's the only time I use either of those products. Anyone who uses IE for anything except testing and using the Google toolbar needs their head examined.

Mozilla Firebird here..

IE is just too much of a security risk / hassle. I prefer not to have to strip out spyware every couple days.

I will however load sites I make into it for the ol' once over but surf with it?

Not to mention the great ad blocking features Firebird has.. :Graucho
