Going to a hall with a few of my closest friends on new years and I decided I'll break to them that I do porn. I have to cause ppl are just too confused about where all my money comes from. It's as if I dont work and spend twice as much as any of them.

Hope they take it pretty well. Ppl dont react good when they find out how much you make...

find some new friends.

i dunno.. then you will have them all asking you to show them how to do it, which is next to impossible to fully explain to someone who doesn't understand anything. then they will want to try it themselves and expect you to do everything for them :mad:

better to just say your a consultant or something :winkwink:

1) they'll want you to teach them ALL how to do it...

2) they will tell a LOT more people that you may not want to know...about your biz...

It depends on how old you are and what your friends and family do. If you're an 18 year old kid, most of your friends might think it's "cool." But I'm 47 years old. I own a mortgage company and I'm fairly well known in the community.

No way in hell would I ever tell anybody that I work in porn or online gambling! Even my kids don't know what I really do online. Whenever they ask, I just say I'm in "Internet Marketing"

Don't tell them. If you don't know how they'll take it by now, chances are some may not take it very well.

I dont think they will take it that hard, and these are VERY GOOD friends, ones that I would do anything for.

Cause the money was never "that" good nor was it stable. I didnt wanna explain what I do and then stop within the next 3 months.

Now I want to do this almost full time (I am doing a biz degree which is why I dont do this full time) and think this is a better time to explain this.

Its also hard to explain that I do nothing (well physically) and make a ton of money, especailly when most of my friends do part time and earn a max of bout $700 a month....

Think twice before you tell them.

I´m a lawyer and worked for several clients in the biz. Someday a client offered me to promote his site. Three month later I decided to quit my job as a lawyer and went into the biz fulltime.

i was in the same situation as you are now. I decided to tell them because I think I haven´t something to hide.

Now I have a lot of new friends and many old are gone. But who cares?

i have had the same friends since i was in jr high, everyone knows i sell porn, girlfriend, best friends, acquantences, everyone,

i dont see the big deal at all, they all know im not gonna tell them shit all how to make money or even exactly what i do,

everytime i go out someone is always like " so hows the porn doing " and i reply excellent.

why not? its just another job for me, i dont and never will see the big deal ( unless i launch mainstream ) but i will keep those 2 biz apart.

I wonder if rather your friends/family knows if you (meaning everybody) work in porn or not has to do with where you live. Like a person in Nebraska would probably less like to tell people he/she is in porn compared to someone from New York.

I have never really kept that I work in the adult industry a secret. I don't let a new girlfriend know right away, but eventually I tell them or they find out. If there is somebody I don't want to know, I just tell them I have a business on the internet. If they ask further, I tell them it's in the entertainment business and has to do with photography and/or movies.

How you generate your income is your personal business. You dont have to explain yourself to anyone.

Everyone I know knows what I do. No problem. Make sure to tell them that it's very hard work, requires lots of time and business is in decline just so they won't bother you about teaching them.

Trust me, no one will care if you sell porn because you're a guy. Just out of curiosity, what do guys think of female webmasters? There is always a double standard. Some guys think that I'm easy just because I sell porn on-line, even though I'm NOT a model, never have and never will, I just sit behind a pc all day.

And some guys thought it was a "loser job" and not very respectable. Guys are getting very VERY picky these days. They want a girl who's super hot and built like a model, but she has to be going to graduate school and studying to be a pharmacist or dentist or something similar, and trust me, there are a LOT of girls like that out there these days. Their reaction to me is : "Doesn't she work or go to college?" "She just sits at home and sells porn all day? What a loser, I thought she had a REAL job at least."

I am going back to school so it's a bit better I suppose, but people always judge women selling porn more harshly than men. A lot of men don't want to date someone who sells porn, they want the model type who's going to school to be a pharmacist or dentist. Some guys don't want to have a SERIOUS relationship with someone who sells porn, they will go out, but they don't think it's a very ambitious profession, like studying to be a doctor or lawyer.

Don't tell your friends that you do porn... they will tell others, who will tell others, who will tell others, ad nauseum. In the end, on every party you go to, people will come up to you to talk about porn.

My whole family and all of my friends know, that i do porn. Its a job like any other. Ok, maybe not like any other, but for you, for me and for many others its just a normal dayjob. So who cares what the others are thinking? Its my life, not theirs.
