Tweaking your gallery servers
 

I'm looking for some standard hotlink protection thingies, and (little) server tweaks that you've done on your servers.

I've already got a basic htaccess installed for hotlinking, any more that i should put up in the htaccess files or anywhere else?

I'm doing some heavy traffic, and if i can reduce that just a little bit, i'd be very happy.

Why would you want to reduce your traffic?

Instead of worrying about decreasing traffic why not focus on increasing sales to pay BW that extra traffic is taking up?

what do you call "heavy traffic"

All i want to know is how did you setup your server for galleries. Surely you've got some kind of hotlink protection, and some apache tweaks that make the gallery loading a bit faster.

As of the reducing of bandwidth: I want to have the hotlinking and gallery leechers stopped because they cost me bandwidth wich i will get zero for in return, no matter how sleazy my gallery looks, they'll never click.

What i'm looking for is a good setup so that this hotlinking and gallery leeching can't happen. Easy as that.
