zone alarm slowing pc down

Upgraded the other day to the latest version of Zone Alarm pro. and now computer is running slow. I checked out their site and it says while the program is on "learning mode" windows xp may run slower however sould be ok after 3 day - 1 week..

Anyone else had same problem? Never had a problem with my old version 3...

Never heard of that, but on a similar note Sygate's firewall kicks fuckin ass.:glugglug

Morphius 12-28-2003 09:07 AM

DutchTeenCash 12-28-2003 09:52 AM

got zonealarm for months running now no slowing down here, maybe got some spyware ?

james_clickmemedia 12-28-2003 07:19 PM

Thats what I thought however as soon as I turn off zone alarm pc works at normal speed. Guess I will give it a few more days and if still slow will contact their customer support

My old roomate worked for a ISP and would come hope and complain daily about the problems that zone alarm caused. Alot of people couldn't even use the net even after uninstalling it with out removing the reg keys and I have heard zone alarm can slow down a pc.....

xxxoutsourcing 12-28-2003 07:50 PM

don't get that on any of our PC's

nathan_f 12-28-2003 07:52 PM

Mine seems to be forgetting program priveledges, it's not that the program has changed since it last accessed the net either.

ztik 12-28-2003 07:54 PM

just remove it :) you don't really need a firewall on windows anyway

LittleMack 12-28-2003 07:55 PM

no problems for me, I am running 2000 though. They are pretty solid so if they say wait a week then it should be good.

MetaformX 12-28-2003 07:56 PM

It works fine on my system

MrIzzz 12-28-2003 07:56 PM
