Try having your DSL shit the bed after a power surge, losing your ethernet cards and having to replace them in two computers and not getting online for two days, missing two deadlines, and then losing your fuckin phone for a week because the surge took out the phone lines as well.
Not fun. I feel your pain. |

But since getting cable haven't had too many major downtimes that I can remember. Certainly none since moving. *knock on wood* |
heya fella!
I see you can now understand the pain we had for the WHOLE WEEK+ being cut off the internet. That's really harmful for biz. Now I have collected just everything I need - wifi from my neightbours, gprs, 2 broadbands and found at least 3 internet-cafes in the neighbourhood to catch a taxi to the place fast! sattelite internet could be a good option too, but it's not for surfing (slow) and costs much. wish you get rid of this maze asap! and yes, happy new year upcoming :glugglug |
I used to work for an Internet company that made it necessary to be on-line no matter what. We had 2 dial-up accounts, DSL, cable and in one instance we actually had to get on WebTV to connect when all else failed.
Ok, we never bought the WebTV, it was provided to us by the company we worked for to test their pages etc. to make sure they worked with it. Right now we just have cable, and they put us through 6 months of hell because we constantly lost our connection. They kept blaming it on us and refused to do anything about it. We kept telling them it was the cablemodem that was messed up. It wasn't until I contacted the local cable (not their 800 help line) that we actually got help. They agreed to replace the modem and we haven't had a problem with it again. (except for when the power goes out, it takes cable 5 hours after the power is back on to actually work). |
