Tragedy today as news comes to hand that 20,000+ soles have been lost in a devastating earthquake in Iran.

The Australian Government has immediately pledged $2 million in aide

I saw somewhere today that sources are saying that Saddam was hiding his weapons of mass destruction over there. And I also heard that Osama was last seen on Iran soil like in Oct. So I personally could care less , unless the earthquake sets off one of the W.M.D and kills Osama.:321GFY

Always remember a lot of innocent people died in this quake. It's their goverment we dislike. The people have the same dreams and asperations as the rest of us.

what? which source is that? Saddam hiding his weapons in Iran, you do know Saddam would rather french kiss Bush, right? Saddam waged war on them for over 10 years, they are arch rivals. Soenites (Saddam) hate Shi-ites (South Iraq and Iran), there believe systems are totally different.
If it were true, it would be the most amazing fact in decades. Don't believe this shit. If they want to free Iran, then at least say it's because you want to fight one of the most extreme islamists on the face of the planet, compared to Iran, Iraq was a free country.

no, the hate towards each other is much bigger than that towards the west:
Iran sees Saddam as an infidel, an enemy even of islam,
Saddam ain't a true believer, he got support from the USSR for years, they see him as an atheist dog, that should be slayed. What most people don't seem to understand is that Saddam at the beginning of his rein did a lot of good for Iraq, Iraq became the most "western" of the arabic countries and yes they got their support from the USSR (this will mindboggle some people :-) :
higher education, women's rights, high living standards, seculire society, putting boundaries to the power of the imams ... (in those days it was an example for the rest of the Arabic world) Iraq become a very wealthy country.
BUT then came the terror, the greed, ... and that's were it all went wrong.

Saddam from his side sees the Shi-ites as a danger to his power, they follow god, not him, Saddam only went on praying on TV to rally support during the Gulf War, but in heart he ain't a big believer, far from.
