building free sites
Is there any advantage when building free sites to buy a new domain for each new site? I build quite a few and I have found no traffic benefits from buying a new domain for each new site. But maybe I am missing something :)
Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks. |
Maybe not for each site but if you are doing different niches it might be a good idea to buy keyword specific domain names for each niche.. :2 cents:
|
i may be totally wrong here, but if you interlink each domain name, it could be good for search engine ranking.
|
There are many advantages:
Easy to remember name for the surfer Shorter URL SEs appreciate different names It's more professional .... .... :2 cents: |
I know guys who have just left up the old domains and pages and still getting traffic from them.
But then they do have great content. :1orglaugh |
No, not needed.
|
No need for multiple domains.
Directories do help with SE targetting... We need some more free site building partners! Hit my program up, use my original content and get paid every week! |

and most of his other reasons were about as intelligent as well. |
And just in case anyone thinks I am being unfair to our professional friend do the maths on this.
He says that you should buy a new domain name for every free site that you build. The expert free site builders turn out a free site every day. So that is at least 7x$9.00 - to keep the figures nice and round for each week. That equates to a cost of over 3k for the first year just for domain names. For the second year you can double that figure because you have the renewal costs for all those domains you bought in the first year plus the cost of 365 new domains for the second year. Now you can see why smp's advice is not even worth :2 cents: I've been building free sites on a regular basis since 1999 - I have precisely 3 domain names that I use for free sites. I have numerous free sites on page one for various good SE terms. |

Who has some examples of some of the bigger freesites out there?

I think it used to be extremely important for the search engines, but from the looks of it I don't think it matters anymore. Most of the top ranked pages on google are now like http://blahfreakingblah.biz/blah-ble...bber-blat.html
|
Depends on how you set up your pages.

As the other Steve said dont go on anything you have seen so far in this thread. Many of the so called tips are a waste of time if not actually harmful.
If we are talking about Google and we should be as they are the only one that counts at the moment they want you to have bigger sites with more content covering more niches rather than lots of little ones. |
Thanks for all the replies :thumbsup
Hi Swami. Have you any urls of what you think Google calls a bigger free site? Thanks. |
