Best free adware removal tool?

Already know spybot and adaware from larasoft.
The updated versions of the above simply cannot remove the adware popup fucker I've got.. Keep popping up windows and prompting me to verify the installation. I leave my machine five mins and when I get back my processbar is filled with windows and prompts!

Anyone know any better removal tools?

ONE day of hard labour it will be. Formatting and reinstalling system.

Just dont get it... I run auto win update, updated any vira software, and a updated software firewall... STILL the shit breaks through. I even tried to remove IE and reinstall it.. No success

I can submit 1 gallery to 10.000 with a click of a button.
However, I cannot reinstall all my shit within 1 day. I have estimated 200.000 differetn applications and lots other shit I use. This takes time... lol.. Joker.

Haha.. yeee, even a more last resort... :1orglaugh
Might work!

I did a full anti virus scan with my newly updated Norton. No vira. But still lots of pop-ups! Comming in waves... Sometimes none.. sometimes tons. I might wanna go for the hammer afterall... :-(

2 things to try:

- pest patrol is pretty good (though not free)

- do a google search on the name of the software that is trying to install. If the pest software cannot get rid of it, most times someone somewhere has posted removal instructions for it.

Yea, I have the same crap on my computer. Pretty much tried everything too. Thanks for the suggestion Overlord. Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas :thumbsup

I had a damn search bot bar that did that to me, and no programs removed it - found the removal instructions on a PC protection board via google. :winkwink:

try doing this also in IE:

Tools>options>adanced>click "restore defaults" in the bottom right

that got rid of my last pop up ad.

as to all the time to reinstall have ya ever heard off backing up ya hd with ghost or similar program ;)

Vittorio 12-25-2003 06:52 PM

Do a search for the program: highjackthis

great simple program... works on 100% of the pop-up, start page changes etc. that I ever had.

Takes 2 secs. to install and run.

It doesn't protect, but it gets rid of everything. I use it often when surfering for porn.

Nope... i dont run this.

Thanks all for the nice replies... It's still there thou... Tried all of the above. I'm going the hard work way. Formatting and reinstalling... :( I simply give up!
Using a ghost tool is a way to limit the damages. But still, each time you "reghost" you'd loose tons of info unless you "reghost" several times a week. Simply too timeconsuming! Well, one would need to compare time with the ghost solution or the format C solution.. Darn :(

They should require testing of people who buy computers...
