When do you decide to go full time?

I've been thinking about this for about 6 months now. Wanting to quit my day job as a computer tech and go full time into this biz. I'm pretty damn sure I can make the money I make from the day job pretty quick from going full time so money really isn't going to be an issue I don't think. Maybe just finding new things to try out?

How did some of you make the jump from part time to full time and what were the ups and downs?

I decided to become a full time adult webmaster after I got laid off from my third dotcom because they couldn't make a real buck.

AT&T / @Home / Excite bottomed out and left us techs holding our cocks in the wind.... and the thought of going to one more fucking job interview was the last straw. I was going to sell my asshole on the streetcorner if I had to.

Depends on your personality completely. Personally, I got into this business like any other. I saw something I wanted to sell and started selling it full time. Never gave not making it any consideration.

I'm still not full-time. I've got much else going on, but this is my only source of income

When I realized that I really COULd do this, I stuck with it. I love this and wouldn't do anything else.

I actually work for a ISP right now, my boss is cool with me doing some online work there if things are slow. But I can't do everything I would like too there when you answer tech calls and doing that bs.

If I were you, I'd save up maybe 6 months worth of income before you jump into adult full time. It would suck if your adult income should drop for whatever reason and you're stuck unemployeed and broke.

Personally I'd wait until you're steadily making as much from porn as your day job. I went full time a little too early (almost 4 years ago now) thinking that I'd be able to make the money easily... as it turned out, things took longer than I expected, and thing were a little tight for a while - it slowed down my growth not having enough money to reinvest in the biz, if you see what I mean.

I'm making a months worth of money from my tech job in about 4-5 days with my porn work. So money isn't really an issue at this point. This online money is my main source of income.

That's a good position to be in. Just live cheap for a little while and build up a nice chunk to ride you through if something should slow you down. It's a great feeling when you don't HAVE to go to work. Funny thing is most of us work more.
