My older brother is a doctor. When I asked him about Mad Cow disease, he turned slowly to me and said:

Oh it's more fucked up than you want to believe. The USDA only tests 2 cows out of every 1,000 for BSE/Mad Cow.

That's like me testing 2 out of every 1,000 people for a disease.
