Zend's PHP 5 Seminar at Internext

Hi GFY PHP community!

I am told by the people at Zend that it would be a good idea to make the adult programming community aware of the PHP 5 seminar they will be doing at Internext. Andi Gutmans, Zend's co-founder and co-author of the Zend Engine will be giving the seminar. It on the first day from 12:15- 1:15 and is included in the Internext seminar's package. Details at www.zend.com/adult

You can also contact David at Zend with questions- ICQ: 295339486 & AIM: davidzend

PHP rocks!!!

Immediately following is the ioncube seminar that explains how much faster their stuff is than Zend and how much less memory the phpaccelerator & loader take vs the zend products.

actually there is no ioncube seminar. Zend is there to support the adult industry. they have been going to the shows for quite some time and gaining momentum. i dont see any other tech companies out there going to teh adult shows. micro$oft doesnt go, macromedia doesnt go, but one of the co-creators of php is going to be there.

go to teh seminar, maybe andi will answer your questions into the performance of Zend products vs. ioncube

It was a joke about the ioncube seminar...my point was simply that Zend products tend to eat more memory and have much more overhead than the ioncube products that i have used and tested.

If they are going to have a booth I will bring it up there, im not paying an extra $100 a piece for my wife and I to attend 1 seminar. The rest I don't really care about, I would attend the PHP5 one but not for the extra price.

I think its cool Zend - who created the language (not just products) is coming to the show to address the new release of PHP5... I don't see Microsoft, Macromedia, nor anyone else (MYSQL, Redhat, etc...) coming to address the adult community.

Zend didn't create the language, some of php's creators founded Zend. Let us not forget the others like Rasmus and such that had a big hand in PHP as well :)

phpslave 12-23-2003 03:10 PM

I'm not forgetting was just looking at all the zend names all over http://www.php.net/credits.php

phpslave 12-23-2003 03:17 PM

sorry AcidMax, you are the mang, let me rephrase what i said, php credits aside.

The creators of hte modern day PHP engine... which is what they are coming to talk about Zend Engine 2 and PHP 5.

Will that work?

It's great to see Zend taking interest in the adult community. We already use some of their products and they have been very helpful. Very kind people to deal with as well.

I've been looking forward to PHP 5, I wish I could attend to this seminar myself. Something definitely worth checking out.

:thumbsup
