I didn't see anything in the story about the friends watching the man get eaten.

This is a friend of mine that I hunt arrow heads with occasionaly. Thankfully I was not with him on this day.

He was drug under by a 12 foot Gator! I always knew he was a tough bitch but this put the icing on the cake!

What do you expect to happen when you swim where there are salt water crocs ? These are living dinosaurs....It is their water. Sad about the dude......but like I said what do you expect.

last time i checked...crocodiles don't parade around their victims, or sit at the bottom of a tree for 24 hours waiting for something to drop out

gator and crocs are two different species..although both are nasty peices of prehistoric work.

Crocs have been shown to be a bit more agressive ..where was the croc hunter when they really needed him

Up here we only need to worry about polar bears and runaway snowballs that grow too big :)

There was a elderly man that lived in central florida and was known to sleep walk.. His ass woke up in a river surronded by gators.. he stood knee deep in the water beating off crocs with his cane for hours till some one fianlly heard him scream and called the authorities. This story ended up being on one of those TV survival shows...crazy shit

the guy that rescued them was on BBC radio last night and apparently they were all trying to get away and the one guy just didn't make it. They didn't give him up they just couldn't save him.

I was up all night last night cleaning the house so it is in-law level for the holiday and heard that interview on the radio and thought 'well you know, as bad as things are atleast I didn't have to cling to a tree tonight and pray a croc didn't eat me'

The area where this happened doesn't usually have crocs as its too far upstream so I guess the thought never entered their heads that they would be battling crocs. Just a freak occurance.

I thought the title said "Crocodile eats man and friends watch".

It sucks that the poor guy was killed and his friends had to witness it, but what the hell are they doing bathing in that water anyways?

Firstly, Steve Irwin is a noob. All he has managed to do is commercialise what he does. I know at least 3 other guys who hunt and reloacte crocs for a living, and steve irwin is mary poppins next to them.

Secondly, swimming in a river with crocs isnt all that uncommon over here, people rarely get taken by a croc, cause they know what we are, and they generally leave us alone. Apart from the fact that crocs dont generally travel that far up the Finniss river, they arent that dangerous.

But now they have 2 choices, trap it and put it in a farm, or kill it. They cant relocate it. Crocs are alot like lions. In africa when a lion attacks and eats a human, they hunt it down and kill it, because it has the taste for human flesh. This croc is no different. It will die, one way or another..
