Torque & Horsepower are the same?
that's what my friend is arguing. ..
i thought torque does the actual work of moving an object while horsepower determines how fast that work gets done. also, can an engine make torque at zero RPMs? |
You are right... your friend is wrong.
|
yup... your friend has no clue. :)

That explains torque. http://en2.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horsepower Definition of Horsepower. You do the math... or rather, physics :) |
They're relate to eachother, but your friend is wrong. They're not the same.
Here's a good read if you're interested. http://vettenet.org/torquehp.html Also a good "i told you so" oppurtunity. :winkwink: |

....Hey dipshit its not like the metric system where its the same quantity just a diffferent unit of measure..... |

I hope he hasn't spent his whole tuning budget on an intake and exhaust trying to get MaD HorSePowErZ. |
That's why the subaru impreza did well in the rally as it's got good tourque on a flat four engine and only 300+ BHP.
Get the gear wrong and the tourque will pull you out, just like a Ducati bike compaired to an R1. |
