the ending part is toooooooo long,
except that it's amazing! and matrix I is the 33rd in the list, interesting.. |
that list sucks, pulp fiction is way too low.. :2 cents:
|
LOTR: ROTK was one of the finest movies EVER made.
It was an awesome experience! Hats off the Peter Jackson for gambling and risking, and to New Line cinema for wagering its future on this masterpiece trilogy. And I am a real hard ass when it comes to ranking movies. Other ones I love.............The Godfather I and The Godfather II, Apocalypse Now, Ikuru (by Akira Kurusawa), Shawshank Redemption, Citizen Cane. So this list is no slouch, and LOTR: ROTK ranks high, high on that list. Its an amazing movie. :2 cents: |

I agree with you JSA, Full Metal Jacket was a product of Kubrick genius.........funny how when it came out ppl complained and thought Platoon, another fine movie, was way better....... but which one has stood the test of time over the other? I think FMJ :) Kubrick is the master. |
now that the trilogy is done. i'd like to see him tackle the nine chronicles of narnia books!

If you want to, look up the history of Sauron alone. Its amazing how complex and comprehensive Tolkien's reach goes. Here's an interesting link on Sauron alone: http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/default.../s/sauron.html |

I didn't even think it was the best of the trilogy.

Overlord, sadly this may never happen. The rights to "The Hobbit" are split between more than one studio and they are all being greedy and stubborn, and want it all to themselves. Plus now, I am sure the public would not accept anyone but Jackson to do the hobbit. After all, can you imagine anyone else doing it? |
okay, don't wanna step on any toes but... there is no fucking way any of the LOTR movies should be in the top 100 let alone top 10.. and anywany, who gives a fuck about IMDB, it's filled with lame ass fanatics... that top 250 list they got don't count for shit! If it weren't for the special fx lotr would be nothing.. The two towers was so fuckin bad I forgot I'd seen it... I can't remember anything from the fellowship, it was so boring it put me to sleep.. ZZZZZZ You wanna see a decent film come over and watch any one of my DVDs.. I got 100 of the best movies you'll ever fuckin see. IE> taxi driver, the godfather 1 & 2, pulp fiction, platoon, silence of the lambs, rushmore, the royal tenenbaums, seven, magnolia, boogie nights, american beauty, brotherhood of the wolf, jackie brown, the shining, jaws... those are great films.

LOL Pgr............most of the movies you have named ARE ON THE LIST YOU ARE PANNING!
Which makes your post a real head scratcher. What was your point in panning a list that has most of your favorites? :eyecrazy |

Well you can look forward to his version of King Kong next.......and he sets it in the 30's, like the original....... now thats kewl :) After that, I predict the studios will get their shit together and we will see Jackson's "The Hobbit", but only in say 5 years from now. Its cause there is way too much $$ at stake to not make it. |
Where the fuck's the Big Lebowski, man?

Those last two movies were dismal. :2 cents: |
My god, how primitive people are sometimes... do you really believe that senseless fantastic movie can be one of the best ever made? It's beautiful - true, but best? Hard to say. And do you think that people who made a rating of "best EVER made" really saw all movies EVER made??? That's rediculus... This list is far from true and pretty subjective, believe me.

The Matrix is ahead of Taxi Driver, come on. :1orglaugh
...and all 3 LOTR on top of the original star wars? That's possibly the worst poll I've ever seen. |
I've seen Return of the King twice now, and I'll probably go again later this week with my little brother. Fantastic movie. Fantastic trilogy. Fantastic story.
It's definitely my #1. |

Why did Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones suck? My opinion: 1. Over-use of computer animation. 2. Under-developed characters/paper-thin plot/piss-poor writing. 3. Terrible acting. Why does George Lucas keep churning out the same old shit with a different title? My guess would be he is pre-occupied with making his fat wallet even fatter. |

Not too often I get hyped over a movie, but its a fantastic one, and a fantastic trilogy. |
