If you buy traffic at PPC Engines

like sex.com or google adword...do you send them direct
to your sponsors site or to your own tour?

Arousal Design 12-22-2003 07:31 AM

adwords doesnt allow sending traffic to sites with popups so you'd have to send it to an FPA or a tour hosted on your own servers.

Sure, but many programs offer console free tours.

Pussycash has a no popup option and our unique sites convert great with ppc search

I just about always use FPAs. One reason is I like to be able to track the type of traffic coming in via a third party counter and server logs. Something you can't do if you are sending directly to the sponsor. Also if an engine allows a single exit console I want the ability to sell the surfer again to maximize revenue.

It totally depends on the type of traffic you are sending to. I mean I would probably not send directly to a pill tour. It just doesn't convert as well as sending it to a directory/reviews style site where they can pick from multiple products.

So in short, it depends what type of program you're sending to.

I've bought some pretty expensive listings on both Sex.com and Overture and BOTH times I had extremely shitty conversion. I spent about $50 and netted $40 in signups with Overture, and with Sex.com I spent $50 and didn't get a signup. I was sending both of their traffic to an FPA.

I spend over $100k a year on PPC traffic, and I tried sex.com the other day with a small $100 depost. No sales, and crappy productivity, I wouldn't touch it for what I sell.

With PPC engines (especially Overture, since I'm vastly more familiar with their inner workings), I really don't see why you'd want to intermediate your traffic flow with an FPA.

We all know surfers have short attention spans -- if they see a SERP and click on a link, they're saying they want that content, and they want it now. They don't want to be bothered with more ads -- basically, if you give them an excuse to get out of your sponsor's purchase pipeline, they'll happy do it and go somewhere/anywhere else. Hopefully you'll at least catch them with a console, but that's another story... :2 cents:

Where do you get your traffic from that can actually send a high enough volume??

it's fatal to judge a ppc with $40-100

Your problem is you gave up at $50. I lost well over $1000 on Adwords until I tweaked my campaigns to get positive ROI. You can't base a 20% loss as being bad on such a low amount invested. You need to up it to a couple hundred at the very least before making a judgement like that.

My own servers first, if any clickfraud exists, you'll never be able to prove it without your logs.

we allow advertisers to send directly to the sponsor at sex.com. in fact, i would say about two-thirds of our advertisers do this.

if you have any questions about what types of sites work with sex.com or how to choose keywords, drop me a line at 160804042

Always send to your own page/tour/fpa first.
