Where to stay in London?
Hey I'm going to London in mid February.
I need to book a room and need recomendations. I want to stay in the Knights Bridge area. I don't want to spend a fortune but I also want a room bigger than a closet. I heard the Millenium is nice but the rooms are only like 200sqft? What else is good with nice rooms and a good location? |
hrm, i will take a look at where I stayed. was pretty nice there. remember to get one of their silly little phone cords to work on their system if you are going to dial in.
|
Get an appartment if your going for a month or longer...
|
How much do you want to spend? Millennium is about 110 pounds a night
|
Im only going to be there 4 days.
Im looking to stay under $300 a night if possible |
Draycott is nice, but more expensive than Millenium. I think I paid about 210 pounds when I stayed there.

I stayed at the White Horse Inn near the High Holborn Tube stop. Very affordable and very nice. Stopped there for 2 days on my way to Italy.
|
In London i stay in B & B's 37 pounds a night.

DO NOT
I REPEAT DO NOT STAY AT KENSINGTON PARK KENSINGTON PALACE ON THE OTHER HAND? Yes. But I just don't plain recommend going to London because the accents will get on your nerves and so will the fucking shady musty enviornment FucKEuropE |
Talk to James (the Man formerly known as Pookey) at ClickMeMedia. I'm sure if you treat him to lunch, he'll give you some good recommendations.
BTW - what's in the water down there in Dallas? You are on your 2nd set of twins, Pookey had twins... Brad & Laura - Watch out! You might need a bigger house when you try for kids! |
Buckingham Palace

I am sure I can find you a nice spot under the south side of waterloo bridge, Nice central location easy access to westend etc..

My favorite hotel in London is No. 5 maddox Street. If you can reserve a room do it!
If not, there is a Holiday Inn in the Docklands that is pretty nice. You can still get a room for under $99 a night. There's only 2 Holiday Inns in the world I would reccommend and the other is in Corpus Christi Texas on the beach that gives you a suite with a huge jacuzzi and an ocean view for $55 a night. The one in London doesn't give you all of that but the hotel is nice. |

you and the other crack heads..most b&bs at that rate in central London are rented out by the gov't and filled with assylum seekers. |
lol, I am here
Okay - your first stop should be http://www.lastminute.com - they have great rates on hotels through out London. If you don't HAVE to be in Knightsbridge I HIGHLY reccomend the Novotel Tower Bridge - not only is it right across the street from the Tower of London but it is surrounded by just about every type of transport link available in London (bus, underground, Dockland's Light Railway, and regular train). I have stayed there about a dozen times in the last few years. Lastminute.com sometimes has deals on it but I have found that you actually have to put its name into the search engine to bring it up. IF you do book through them, consider ordering the family room even if you are on your own. They are the same rate and the room is big because the second bed is a fold out sofa. Knightsbridge is posh and removed from the buzz of central London - expect to pay for it. Also, check out my site..it is crappy design wise but some people have said it has helped them - http://london-travel-tips.com/ Hope I helped a bit :) |
I thought Knightsbridge is where all the site seeing and touristy stuff is?

Kensington Copthorne Tara! Very nice, only a few blocks from Kensington Station, I think!
