LOL...So did I. No shit. Dumb bitch signed everything over to me...Except for half the debts. Of course, she never paid her half. :321GFY

Gee I guess I was just too naive.

Course now, 9 months since I finished paying him off, both their cars have been repo'd, they are foreclosing on the trashy house they bought (in her name so he was under the child support radar from his 1st wife) and it'll be auctioned off in Feb. Both their credit is so screwed up that I'm sure it'll be hard to find a place to live.

And the funny thing.. I'll bet dollars to donuts that he blames all of it on me.

CDSmith 12-21-2003 08:06 PM

Since women have gained a more dominant role in the workforce over the past 30 years, you now see a few cases here and there where the roles of the man vs the woman in court are reversed. From time to time it is the man who gets awarded "half the shit" of the woman, because she was the major provider. I've seen it happen.... but I think it is a long way from becoming equal. It is still very predominant that upon divorce, the woman get's half.

Not surprised at all seeing more and more prenups happening.

I was sort of thinking of you when I posted above. :D You and a few others I know.....

And whenever you talk about your ex, I always... always, end up shaking my head over how such a personable and smart woman like you could ever be landed by such a life-sucking dumbass as the guy you are describing. It is astounding. He must have been quite a charming bastard.

hehe oh I'm sure. 45 years old and never owned up to being responsible for anything in his life. He's obsessive/compulsive and she's bipolar. Really wonder where the $325K went in only 3 years. They spent it and accumulated a mess of debt at the same time. Likely he was back on coke..

I've always said.. you get what you give.

It was where I was in my life.. back in 89 when I met him, I was very naive, 28 years old, mother of two young boys, working my butt off for about $10 an hour. I put up with his shyt and learned all his tricks to the point that he couldn't play them on me. He hit bottom in 94 or so, cleaned up a bit, but I was unable to trust him much at all. I just literally didn't care much anymore. When he pulled his shyt in 1999, I was a much stronger person than 5 or 10 years prior.

anidifranco 12-21-2003 08:15 PM

Any woman who divorces you is definitely better off. So yeah, in your case it's true.

I am very much tempted to write a novel based on your life story.

Sometimes. Not always. You can't think of any examples? I can.

BVF 12-21-2003 09:35 PM

I'm so glad that I got out of my divorce cleanly, I don't know what to do.

I won't get married until I'm in my 60's and have found my true soulmate...Plus the woman has to have money before I marry her.

Even with a prenup, you still have to go through the asset disclosure and all of that messy shit in a divorce....I'm not going down the aisle again anytime soon.

But ain't no way I'm about to kill myself...I love myself too much

Gemini 12-22-2003 02:42 AM

I left my ex's with more than I took... just to get on with life. No sense in fighting over things or money. Either one can be gotten again.

1999? $tronger indeed.

You were banking pretty hard in 99 :)

Most problems poor people have in relationships stem from money... maybe they should just not get into relationships until they have a million dollars. Err.. I mean until they are stronger.

silent moan 12-22-2003 04:28 AM

i thought you men were the one who always ask for it?

acctman 12-22-2003 05:33 AM

i'd burn all my money, and destroy my assets. I would never EVER pay a woman just cause she was married to me. Sign a prenup and contract stating she gets nothing if we divorce. Screw the agruement of a spouse being supportive while you were making money. who cares, if she wasn't there i'd still make the money.

I have a hard time paying the gov't, I work and stay up till 3am every day making money. damn leeches, now i'm pissed.
