anyone have an opinion on wildform flixpro?
major mainstream players are moving to flash video.
it looks good to me: http://www.wildform.com/resources/ga...1cbd13007&ref= 98% of web surfers have browsers with the lightweight flash player already installed. this particular encoder "flixpro" has an interesting authentication security feature built-in. anyone using it? what is the downside of flash video? it plays really good and looks good on my screen. thanks! |

The downsized? Simply the one about surfers that aren't equipped with a flash player, OR who are on dialup and don't like a long flash opening screen, etc. |
ok Centurion, i appreciate your response.
but don't you think that MORE people have the little lightweight flash player on their machine, than any other media player? i have not bought flixpro (yet) but i was really impressed with the samples of mainstream websites using this software to encode video. like the BBC, etc., superb sound and visual, small (relatively) file size. truth is i don't use video that much on my sites, but when i do i always seem to have members who complain of loading problems, etc. and then the problems with hotlinkers, and problems getting it to play in the protected member areas. i'm testing a free variant of flixpro right now: http://www.blue-pac.com/products/tur...ad/default.htm it cut an mpeg file to 60% of its original size and the darn thing looks and plays (to my eyes/ears) as good as the mpg file. i will try avi file next. but, so far, so good. |
