I think if the religion you practice frowns upon porn, and you are in porn, then you aren't practicing that religion are ya!!!!
And if you pervert the meanings of a religion to fit your liking I think then you would become an extremist of that religion and that is not practicing it either.

That would mean that NOBODY is religious. EVERYONE does something that their religion frowns upon. That is why there are no perfect humans. That is also why there is such a thing as a confessional.

You can be anything you want to be. It might make you a hypocrite, if your religion is against porn etc. But everyone is a "sinner", so there's hypocritical deeds in every religion. Divorce, fornication, drugs, alcohol, cursing, lying, eating meat on fridays, shopping on Sundays, driving on Saturdays, eating cows etc... it all depends on your beliefs and what religion you are amongst. Unless you live your life as a saint, it would be nearly impossible to follow your life 100% true to your religion and beliefs, 100% of the time.

I am not religious, I believe in God or a superior being. I don't know what exactly... I just believe in a higher being that created all of us and our universe. I believe in many things... nothing specific or confined, so I guess I have my own private religion :)

No that is not what I am saying. You are not getting my point. If you practice a religion that says porn is bad, and you do it anyway, that is not practicing your religion.

That does not mean you do not believe in God. It just means you are not practicing your religion. You wake up every morning knowing that what you are doing is a sin, to your religion, and you do it anyway, you are not practicing your religion.

And going to confession and asking for forgiveness for a sin you know damn well you are going to go and do the very next day, is not practicing your religion. That is not what confession is all about.

when I was a little boy.... I used to pray to God for a bike for x-mas every single night... I'd pray and pray and pray...

finally my dad said "Son, you know God doesn't work like that."

What your saying is that nobody has to follow their religion as long as they go to a confessional (if that is part of their religion). This is exactly why I'm not religious. Too many hyprocrites in religion that say to do one thing and then don't do it.

In the Christian religion, your supposed to try and be as much like Jesus as you can. If your practicing what is against your religion, then your not following it (your going against it).

I was just trying to make a point. Those hypocrites are the very reason I don't go to church. I personally would never go to confessional, because if I want forgiveness, I will ask God, not a priest. The point I was trying to make was, just because we are in this business (going against what the Bible may say) does not mean that we can't be religious people.

The Bible also says "Spare the rod, spoil the child". Does that mean that people who don't believe in whipping their children are not religious? They may be two VERY different things, but if someone is going to go by every word of a religion, then they can't pick and choose which ones are more evil. In the eyes of any religion I have ever known, it is said that all sins are sins.

I like to think that religion is more like guide lines really :thumbsup

It depends, I don't think that someone religious could do the staring roles, but if you're just behind the scene, I think that you could. But then again, how many of the people in this industry are religious! I know that I'm not and I will never be religious just because I was forced from when I was 6 - 14 and the religion just left me with TOO many unanswered questions!
