Is this legitimate grounds for a sponsor not paying an affiliate?
Say you send sales to a sponsor and 50% "supposedly" result in chargeback. Is this grounds for not paying the affiliate anything? Or would it be fair to at least pay for the sales not resulting in chargebacks.
This happened to me a long time ago, and was just thinking about it. The company will remain nameless. |
I dunno if it merits you not being paid. Saying that tho, 50% chargebacks is fucking high. Aren't you supposed to be at 1% with CCBill?
|
Depends. Did you send 2 sales and get a chargeback?
Or did you send 100 and 50 charged back? |

This was over a year ago, so I guess chargeback % wasn't as big of an issue in this industry. It was one of those sponsors with the "free trials" but has fine print stating they will be charged $20 for another website as well.
These particular chargebacks are the only ones I have heard of that came through traffic I sent anywhere. |

4 sales. 2 chargedback or 4 sales and 4 chargebacks?
Its only $40 or $80. Maybe there was a minimum amount before getting a cheque ?? |

I have talked to them about this. 6 months after sending the sales I contacted them and they told me my account was put on hold for no appearant reason. They also said my check would be sent "next week". 6 months after THAT... still no check. Contacted them again, and that's where they told me my account had a 50% chargeback rate. It's been about another 3-4 months since then and I'm thinking about contacting them and asking to at least send payment for sales which didn't result in a chargeback. Does that sound reasonable? |
unfortunately, i don't think they have to be reasonable. also, you only sent 4 sales. i don't think they are really concerned with you.
