is it a good independant film? Can you see this one without seeing first 2?

matrix you had to see others first ... just asking (i didnt see it yet)

It is pretty action packed and carries itself the entire 3.5 hours. However, if you do not know the 1st two, you will be lost on some of the "why".

my GF didnt see the first two, refuses to watch em but she went with me last nite so i could finish the trilogy and she liked it and was able to follow. the first scene takes does a flashback to a part that was mentioned for a second in the first.

how can you not have seen either of the first 2?

It made more money then Aaronm did last year by a small margin.

Yea, I would recommend seeing the first two! But This one I guess you could watch without seeing the previous ones!

Well you could watch it on its own. But here's some notes on the movie

1. Aragorn is shot with 6 arrows after his valiant speech.
2. Arwen distraught marries Legolas
3. Frodo takes the ring for himself but falls into the pit of mt. doom
4. A Depressed Sam becomes the shire alcoholic where he drowns himself in cheap ale.
5. Sauron was not destroyed, this set back forces Gandalf to seek Saurumon where he must do the unthinkable!
6. Gandalf and Saurumon do the fusion technique where they combine into the ultimate being Gandalfmon
7. Gollum robbed of his precious is forced to find another precious which ends up becoming the "Shire Weed". Gollum with his new found outer peace becomes the town stoner where he is only second to Sam.
8. Pippin looks at a shiny object at the bottom of a well. Pippin falls in and is never seen again. A mysterious video tape is found, it is said that anyone who watches is will die in 7 days.
9. Merry settles down with Eowyn. They end up having a family of 14 children.
10. Faramir is burned alive. But what people didn't know was that he would become the Phoenix and rise from the Ashes
11. A maddened Elrond runs Legolas through with the reforged Narsil. A furiouos Gimli fights Elrond. Gimli learns that Elrond is his father.
12. The movie abruptly ends showing Gandalfmon flying towards Mt. Doom where the finaly clash will begin. :thumbsup
