The continued failing appliance saga....

so far so good with the new fridge... (knock on BradShaw's forehead), but now the dryer has crapped out. Takes 3 hours to dry a pair of shorts. I think they'd dry faster if I put them out on the deck for 15 minutes.

fucking shitbag damn appliances..... what a goddamned racket these fuckers run man.

DIE BITCHES DIE!!!! :ak47: :uhoh

Holly 12-19-2003 10:13 PM

Have you emptied the lint filter lately? Is the heat setting on "air"?

Yes, I know it's dumbass questions, but I've known many men who didn't know to check for either. Just had to ask. :)

That sucks, I had to buy a new fridge when I moved in to my new place! :( But lucky I haven't had anything go wrong since then!

I always buy top of the line.... all the shit that's been failing around here, came with the house. Ceiling fans, the fridge, the drainage, the electrical, smoke alarms, even the fricken doors.... the list is long. And I've been replacing shit ever since I got in here.

when will it end???

Gemini 12-19-2003 10:24 PM

So get the Audel book on Repairing Small Appliances and fix it. Its easy to do. Don't forget when you call a part store, tell them you are a company so you pay wholesale. :Graucho

ROFL!!!! :1orglaugh

are you high??! I will go to Lowes and have them deliver brand new shit on Monday. What is this foolishness about "fixing" a dryer? lol

Gemini 12-19-2003 10:32 PM

Hmmmm... $50 heating element versus 500 dryer...hmmm... I dunno, if the thing is pretty new why throw it out? Home depot has better deals too. lol

Oh and you DO know you can buy screwdrivers with operating instructions now too doncha? lol First instruction is point the sharp part away from your body. ;-)>

You might check the manufacturers website too. Alot of them have detailed info on each model and some even have the common troubleshooting tiplists if it is just something like a clogged filter.

Spunky 12-19-2003 10:37 PM

Call a repair man. They carry the parts and alot cheaper than buying a new dryer

Not around here. Dryers are easy as hell to fix and a repairman is just going to charge you out the ass.

my dad makes 80k a year fixing washers and dryers, lol. been doing it for 20 years.

buying new ones is a waste of money cause usually its an easy thing to fix and it'll last for years on end.

maytag is the best.

Are YOU high? Unless you plan on buying econo size units, or truly shit appliances, these things cost some coin.

I've got whipping ass big heavy duty washer/dryer - to replace them would be pushing 2 grand. ($850+ each) I've had the washer repaired twice - total of about $75 plus maybe $30 cash tips. That beats blowing $800 - $1000 and the hassle of having the old one removed.

I don't know if it's just a different area / different situation or your dad works part time. $80,000 is change if you run your own repair business here.

I wouldn't expect a new washer/dryer set to be much less than that. My fucking mattress was $2k.

venturi 12-20-2003 01:05 AM

No disrespect, AMP, but have you ever watched the Tom Hanks movie The Money Pit?
Sorry shit is not going the way it should for ya.
