Just taking a simple poll:

How many years/months have you been working
or doing stuff Adult Related Online ?

What sites or companies you have worked for in
the past or present.

Just wondering :)

I will start off..

1997 I started

1998 I worked for Xpics for 6 months

1998 - 2000 I ran the marketing/sponsorship site
for Busty-Amateurs.com *RIP*

2000- I have alot of projects going on since then...

buddyjuf 12-19-2003 09:14 PM

I have been making websites since I was 13
and that was 6 years ago
hence the reason I have never had a "real job" :1orglaugh

steffie 12-19-2003 09:14 PM

I started in 1989
Posted the first pictures in Newsgroups in 1990
Used my dialup domain for starting my first website in 96, got kicked off in 96 and ended up buying my first domain in September 1996.

Still here - Barely - Loved it until about 2 years ago, got tired of all the bullshit than and went mainstream, but still kept going with the adult sites. However, I am starting to do better in Mainstream than in Adult, now thats scary

icedemon 12-19-2003 09:26 PM

I've been online and in the adult biz since 96. Had a bad year last year, but this year and the years before have all been good to me. 2004 should be my best year yet.

Rochard 12-19-2003 09:26 PM

I got online in 1993, and made my first web page in 1994. Lightspeed - out the goodness of his heart - taught me, a complete stranger, how to make webpages.

Paybacks are a bitch, aren't they?

Spunky 12-19-2003 09:32 PM

94-95
Made sites on msn and yahoo.Actually did pretty good way back then.taught myself html and shit..
2003 still pluggin away due to all the hurdles :glugglug

StuartD 12-19-2003 09:34 PM

I was cruising BBS's at a screaming fast 2400 baud in 94/95... started my own in 96 with a 14.4 and then created my first website online in 97.

The rest, as they say... is history.

JDog 12-19-2003 09:36 PM

Well, I've been online since AOL 1.0 :) But in the Adult industry I've been working since I was 18 (2000). :Graucho

So I guess you could say I'm kind of a newbie!

Holly 12-19-2003 09:57 PM

91 or 92, I think. Used to dial-up to Prodigy. Loved the bbs, lol. Been online ever since, made more free sites and pages of just stupid, stupid, useless shit than I could ever count. Never even occurred to me to do anything porn related. I never even looked at porn. I could kick myself for all those years I was so clueless. :( If only I were more perverted, I might be retired on a beach somewhere now.

My first modem was a 1200 baud.

Does that answer your question?

And even funnier, when the 2400 baud models came out I was so excited.

1984 300 baud... was smokin the bbs's

hershie 12-19-2003 11:05 PM

I moved to Silicon Valley in the early 90's and opened up an Internet company not knowing anything about the Net or computers. I had a territory locked up (San Mateo county) reselling for the first dial-up ISDN provider in the US. We also designed and hosted web sites and configured Frame Relay as well as ISDN. For me it was trial by fire not having a tech background and trying to make it in Silicon Valley.

Who did you know there ?

I started in July and left in November.

Elli 12-19-2003 11:46 PM

Started chatting on bbs's in 1992-93 at 2400. I was sooo jealous when Blade got a 14.4k and my mom wouldn't upgrade her computer! I got on Compuserve around 1995-6, then took a little hiatus when I became quite disgusted with Compuspend. Started surfing in 1996-7, then started my site in 1998. Taught myself HTML and all that jazz, and here I still am.

Mr Pheer 12-19-2003 11:59 PM

I was doing BBS with my C-64 in 85. Then I started doing adult sites in late 96 while still in the Army. Got out of the army in 97 and have managed to remain unemployed ever since.

Meloman 12-20-2003 12:11 AM

I got on the net back in 95-96. I STILL have the same internet account except now it's broadband. I was just a surfer back then.

I built my first site (Adult Check AVS) back in 98' when I was like 23. Have been an AVS & Free Site Search Engine webmaster ever since. I dabled very little with TGP/MGP in 2000 but quickly went back to my roots.

Got hired in Sept 2002 by Webquest (FlyntDigital, VividCash). I am proud to work for such a kick ass company and have a blast doing it! But overal I'm STILL a free site/SEO webmaster and the bulk of my income is from my own traffic :winkwink:

The companies I send my own traffic to are:

1. Maxcash
2. Cashquest2
3. FlyntDigital
4. VividCash

For 5 years now Maxcash has been making me a killing and is by far my most favorite sponsor. The rest on my list are a super close second :thumbsup

Cashquest2 kicks some serious ass for me with targeted niche traffic.

:thumbsup

1967 me and a gentleman by the name of howard thompson linked 4 toasters, a blender, a bucket of sand, and a roll of industrial tape together and created the bbs, unfortantly a flamewar broke out and we all died.

Furious_Female 12-20-2003 12:36 AM

8 years online
Almost 4 years in adult

Mishi 12-20-2003 12:54 AM

c. 1982 - can't remember for sure - on local BBSs and then CompuServe. (Anybody ever hang on CompuServe CB in those days? Anybody? Hello? Echo!)

Then around 1986 I got stupid and left the computing world for about 10 years. By the time I got back, my C-64 with its 300-baud modem were kinda out of date. Fortunately I caught up pretty quick...on the mainstream side...*sigh*.

Didn't join adult until June of 2001. Still trying to catch up!

Regular programming since 1981 (COBOL, RPG)

First PC in 1992 (Mostly playing tetris)

In the biz since 1999 when $5000 a week was no problem. Oh the good old days!

VirtuMike 12-20-2003 06:09 AM

Any of these sound familiar?

VMS FOREVER!
Fidonet
Quantumlink
Pet 2001
Accoustic Coupler?

I rule all.

My first modem was a 110 baud stick the phone handset into the the modem. I was one of the first 24 beta testers of the original AOL, and somewhere I have a Commodore Pet 2001 serial number 30.
