Do the holidays really slow down the sales?

Or is that all bullshit? What are your experiences with the dreaded "Holiday Slump"?

It might be the program you're promoting, although I would htink that if your stats are generally slow, then you might consider rethinking how you promote your stuff.

Talk to me folks. :)

During certain days, especially during certain hours on those days.

- Holidays are the worst, but the days after can be some of the best.

Imagine what you're doing on the holidays, and when you have free time to surf the net. Prb. similar for a lot of people.

My sites seem to do the opposite of every body elses. When I hear other people say sales are slow, mine are good. When other people say they are doing good, my sites seem to start going down hill some.

I remember when the adult industry looked for to this time of year. Everybody got new computers and you would have a swarm of newbie internet users on the internet just ready to give you their money.

Wonder if those days are over, or if the newbs are just a lot younger than they used to be. :(

I would think this would still hold true to some extent.

I think traffic and sales will be down for everyone on the 24th and 25th.

Actually maybe not the holidays, but I know the end of the year slows usually. In my past experience, lots of people don't have much money to spend during 4Q, just like a business is tight on budget! But the beginning of the year has a boom, for me!

There are not as many new computers being bought now days, compared to a couple of years ago. There are still new people on the internet after Christmas. But not as many. It used to be from the day after Christmas until Summer time, a ton of new people would all of a sudden be on the internet looking to spend that money.

My content sales have been literally dead since a month, so I think that's a direct impact of the holidays slow down.

I hope things will be good for everybody after X-Mas!

TheJimmy 12-19-2003 08:25 PM

don't believe the hype...

I've had some RECORD months during the holidays...

they're already shopping online, putting a few extra bucks on the CC...what's another 29.95 ;)

steffie 12-19-2003 09:22 PM

My sales in Adult suck before the holidays and rock in January, I guess with all those new PC's out there.

So I live on my Mainstream stuff and Ebay ;-)) until the slump is over
