LadyMischief 12-19-2003 06:15 PM

They're calling it the freedom tower or something

Ross 12-19-2003 06:15 PM

After the atrocities of 9/11 America says they would never build a building that tall again for fear of more Terrorist attacks.

I'm not saying I agreed with it, but it is gonna be the tallest building in the world so it must surely be number one target to fuck up again.

Babagirls 12-19-2003 06:16 PM

For $12 Billion Dollars, it better be Plane-Proof too!!!

Matt M 12-19-2003 06:17 PM

Yeah it is going to be very cool indeed..:thumbsup

theharvman 12-19-2003 06:18 PM

aflex 12-19-2003 06:34 PM

it won't be $12 billion to build.. where'd you get that number?

taken from: http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/Northeast...lan/index.html

Gargano estimated the tower's construction would cost $1.5 billion, or $1 million per 500 square feet.

Ic3m4nZ 12-19-2003 06:37 PM

It's gonna be a perfect target for terrorists again.

AWC 12-19-2003 06:38 PM

with the money they are wasting on the towelheads in iraq... they could have built 7 of these things

Maybe that price includes some SAM's

??

pornguy 12-19-2003 06:55 PM

I think that it will make a very pretty target..

Way to go assholes... Give them something else to blow up. And hey incase enough people did not die in the first 2 lets make this one of galss so that when it does explode we can get people that are a mile away walking down the street. That should make for some fun!!!

Did anyone of these idiots ever stop to think why they dont park military planes close together any more??? Maybe because they are a bigger target...

This country has it's head up it's ass.

HEARTBREAKER 12-19-2003 07:47 PM

nice:thumbsup but Babagirls is right....it needs to be plane-proof:)

we spent $90 billion blowing up another country, another $90 billion to fix them up.

Babagirls 12-20-2003 11:13 AM

yea, i cant wait to see what happens the next time a plane hits the new building, now we got a big ass spike on the roof, hopefully it'll shatter before it stabs people on the street before point-of-impact.

Sosa 12-20-2003 11:48 AM

Looks pretty good

he's right and nyc still hasnt seen all the money it needs to get back on track yet we can send money to a filthy country that serves no purpose other then getting our people killed.

i say make it the tallest bldg ever where no one can compete and screw the rest of these leachy countries who have no appreciation for what is given to them regardless of how it was given.

wtfent 12-20-2003 11:56 AM

That is the ugliest design for a building that I have ever seen in my life. :2 cents:

What a fucking money-wasting bunch of assholes we are.

Matt 26z 12-20-2003 02:07 PM

Another plane won't hit this or ANY building in the US now that all of the cockpit doors are break-proof.

The airlines should have had that security measure in place before 911 like other airlines around the world have. Then 911 as we know it would never have happened.

Shoehorn! 12-20-2003 02:16 PM

looks good

Exactly!!!

Damn I am glad the people in this thread do not fight for this country. Fear Fear Fear everywhere. :1orglaugh

I can't believe what I am hearing. "Don't build another building they might knock it down. Boo Hoo."

We are fucking Americans. We do not live in fear. That is the whole point.

As one of the great founding fathers of this country once said, "When fear is present wisdom is not."

You'd be happy working in the place?

I doubt it'll get hit anytime soon, you guys must have a heap of tall buildings that could have been hit since 9/11.

pamphage 12-20-2003 05:13 PM

it looks different in this url

http://i.cnn.net/cnn/2003/US/Northea...kind.model.jpg

Rictor 12-20-2003 05:27 PM

Let's bulldoze New York and start over.

Babagirls 12-20-2003 05:33 PM

The Night-View looks awesome.....
http://us.news1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com...3984127376.jpg

But whats up with the spiky thing at the top? Looks like they wanted to worlds tallest building, but its too dangerous to acutally build levels that high, so they slapped on a big spike to make it officially (to be)"The Worlds Tallest Building".

Hell yes I would be happy working there. New York fucking rocks. I would love to live there and work there, for a while at least. I am not going to let those asshole control my life. If I did then they would win their game of spreading fear.

I like the beach and warm weather, so I might not last that long in New York :1orglaugh

What a joke. The US building is actually shorter then the current tallest building.
Its just that absurd spike breaking the record.
Next we have someone build a 3 story building and attach a 2000 foot rod to it.

davvve 12-20-2003 05:56 PM

nice skyscraper! :thumbsup 1776 feet :)

Nima 12-20-2003 06:04 PM

as far as I know the towers will be relocated to boston

Babagirls 12-20-2003 06:11 PM

Okay, heres some facts that I gathered from reading more about the Freedom Tower on Yahoo News;

* Insurance on the twin towers is expected to pay much of the cost.

* Childs outlined several features that he said would make the Freedom Tower the "the safest building in the world," including wider staircases, a separate stairway and elevator for firefighters, "blast-resistant glazing" and more public stairways with direct access to the street.

* Silverstein, 72, gave the industry group an outline of the 16-acre site's rebuilding process. He put the cost at up to $12 billion over 10 years.

* 2015 as the completion date of the project.

digi 12-20-2003 06:17 PM

1. Nice looking tower
