A United States (U.S.) government conspiracy theory behind the September 11 attacks was the topic addressed in the movie entitled Aftermath: Unanswered Questions from 9/11, as well as in the panel discussion that followed the screening at Concordia.

"Unequivocally, 9/11 is a U.S.-intelligence sponsored toy," said Michel Chossudovsky, economics professor at the University of Ottawa and editor of the Center for Research on Globalization.

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but isn't there some speculation that FDR knew that Pearl Harbour was going to happen but did nothing to stop it? Thus giving the US a reason to join the war in that it's population and congress was not in favour of getting into at the time?

Seems there are a few parallels between that situation and 9/11...

I thought it was on the news at one time that the US Government was warned that something was going to happen, or no?

The people that say Bush planned it are the ones that make me laugh the most. Nevermind the fact that they had been planning this long before he was even president.

And i love the evidence. I read this article once. Cited a bunch of evidence. And you know what? The evidence was incredibly convincing. It all made sense .. until you attempt to verify the evidence. A credible source other than some looney wearing a tinfoil hat who's only evidence is that they can't prove otherwise. Classic stuff.

Rememeber when all the planes were grounded after 9/11 and nobody could fly ? Well at the same time private jets were flying all over the usa , picking up members of the bin laden clan and flying them to saudi arabia.

Bin laden ( sr ) and Bush ( jr ) owned a very similair stock portfolio. And both were very busy pre- 9/11

If you were in a foreign country, and some screwball relative of yours just killed 3,000 people, I dont think you would want to stick around.

All I know is that there was some really incompetent people and those people should've been fired not promoted for failing to act on the intelligence. But that's the difference between the government and private corporations; in the government you keep your job no matter what.

There isn't anything that you can't put the spin on to make it out the opposite way it happened. If at some point they do find out that it really was people in our own government that were behind it... well, that could get sticky for their families.

as far as the conspiracy. Congress has to justify spending for weapons. If there's no war, No spending is needed. Our government has been lying to us for decades.

It may not be that they did this, but they did nothing to prevent it.

Take into consideration the following. 1940. Most of the world is involved in some type of war. The US is not. The president tells congress that we need to help fight against hitler and the japs. Congress and the people tell him to shut and sit down.. So trying to find a way to get into it, they take the entire pacific fleet, the same fleet that protects the US from the top of alaska to the bottom of cali and all of our outlying islands, and then have them all dock in Perl. ALL of them. The only patrol ships are just outside of perl. Then we decide for the first time ever, and since to give more than 3/4 of the men on the ships, shore leave. In fact they dont even have to sleep on baord the ships. They leave the ships with the bare mininum crews. There were what 20 or more ships in the harbor that day. each one holding somewhere over 1000 per. and only 4k died??? Sounds like someone made sure to mininumize the losses...

I have lived in Florida all my life. In Tampa most of the time. I have seen F4 phantoms in the old days and F16 and 18's take off out of there south bound because of a cuban mig that was getting too close to the line.. Hod not crossed the line, but was heading in that direction. they can fly from Tampa past miami in less than 2 minutes, but not a single one could stop the palne from hitting the pentagon??? WTF?? This is supposed the be one of the most protected places in the world.. In fact my best friends father designed the defense system for that place. It has SAMS and none of them fired. Why???

Yeah seriously - McGuire Air Force Base is under 40 air miles from the WTC. An F-15 could have made it from holding short to the scene in about three minutes if he had to. Even if it were not armed it still could force a plane down or at least keep one busy until the armed ones show up. An afterburner at close range could knock out a single jet or the cockpit window. Also a gear down smack could take out a wingtip or elevator.
