basement ceilings
 

Does anyone here have a basement were the ceiling is at least 13 feet high? I was wanting to buy a house and put a basketball court in the basement =)

It isn't very common to have them that high. But if you build it yourself, you shouldn't have much of a problem other than some additional expenses in excavating, concrete, and some additional steps. Heating and coolling shouldn't be too much different. Depending on the layout of your house, you might also need extra tall floor jacks/supports...but it can be done.

I thought that at first, too. But I plan to build a double basement in my next house...so I can't really laugh at anybody else's ideas. :winkwink:

My ex and I were in process of building a house with 12' basement ceilings for the 'guys' to do all that sort of thing down there. You should talk to him! Its still unfinished as far as I know (after 8 yrs + 5 while I was there) He'd sell it cheap I bet. lmao

Yeh i need a 50 foot basment with a ramp for my old jet.

I wired a custom home where the guy had a full size raquetball court down in his basement. It was already done when I got placed on the jobsite. I remember my friend Pete telling me to go into this "closet" and flip on the light, then look to my left. LOL

Fucking house was insane.
