Xvid?
 

I've got members looking for higher and higher quality downloads, and I like to give them what they want.

A couple have been asking about xvid, anybody know a real easy way to encode full movie downloads? I downloaded a binary codec but the movies produced seem to be huge, bigger than mpeg-2.

Just wondering what other sites are doing for near dvd quality full length movies.

Depends on the software you're using. With the right software it can be pumped out quick.

I am using Studio 8. But when I downloaded the stable binary codec you have about 200 options. I tried a full screen sized movie and it came out huge.

I think what I am looking for, is programs I can run seperately that will take a mpeg or avi and make an optimized 700 meg or so movie.
