Police launch 'porn' website to snare perverts
A website purporting to contain images of child sex abuse has been launched by police as part of a new global scheme targeting internet paedophiles. Anyone who chooses to enter the site will be given the option of continuing through a series of pages while being prompted to withdraw from the process at every stage. Those who choose to continue will ultimately be faced with a screen telling them they have entered a law enforcement website and that their actions constitute an offence. Their details will be captured and they could face prosecution in their country of residence. The initiative, codenamed Operation Pin, was launched by the National Crime Squad (NCS) and is supported by other UK and international law enforcement agencies. It was originally developed by a specialist team at West Midlands Police but has now been expanded and adopted as a global weapon in the fight against online paedophile activity. The NCS said it was warning those who view images of child sex abuse that the internet was just another public place and would be policed as such. NCS assistant chief constable Jim Gamble said: "We hope this initiative will disrupt the activity of paedophiles operating on the internet, discourage those who facilitate the supply of images of child abuse online and undermine the confidence of those who hope to use the internet anonymously when searching for sexual gratification by viewing images of child sexual abuse. "It is vital to remember that those viewing or attempting to view this material are committing an offence in the UK, and if they are abroad they may well also be committing an offence in their own country. "It is crucial that the public understand that those who search and view online images of child sexual abuse fuel the demand for new pictures and films, contributing to the real-time abuse of many new victims every day." http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_848118.html |
not a bad idea at all
go get those pedos |
Great idea.
|
but wont it soon be known to all the active pedophiles on the net which site is the police one?
|
Good news! This means that sexeducation should be behind bars pretty soon.
|
Fucking awesome :)

A good idea :thumbsup
I have very strong personal reasons for wanting every Pedo locked up on sight - Especially a certain Mr Tim Banks who lives in Ilfracombe, Uk - (Now I have found his address - This guy is going to live the rest of his life looking over his shoulder). |
hope they get them

Good plan, the more pervs off the street the better. Less customers for lightspeed though.
|
You'd think they'd put up 100s of fake sites like this, that way anyone actually searching will be terrified of hitting a police fake.
Very good idea. Cheers to the UK. Cheers, Matt |
About time :thumbsup

Most excellent news WTG UK :thumbsup
|
You guys are on crack. The precedent this sets? Fucking swell.
Wait until they set up more traps. Speed traps, drug deal stings, and now porn set-ups. Super. When will pissing be on the list? |
yeah, ummmmm...anyone seen sex education lately???
|
Sounds like entrapment.... we have laws against those techniques here in the states.
|
definitely entrapment. Police shouldn't be in the child porn biz.

At least in the UK we have fewer murders and pedos walking the streets - Which is how it damn well should be in every country - |

Granted.. I am not for child porn or anything... but there are right and wrong ways to catch these perv's. I think that entrapment is a violation of our civil rights. You cannot trick people into shit.... look at all the scammers in adult... the ones that trick people to go to their sites. That is not allowed... yet, these police can use tricky methods if it serves the better good? No.. don't agree with that. Shit... most men are pedo's... how many women do you know that have had some kind of sexual abuse by their father's, step fathers, uncles and so one when they were young.... I can think of at least 10 off the top of my head i know of... Now this is a serious issue and 9 times out of 10 goes unreported. |
Entrapment is bad news. If police could use entrapment they could throw us all in jail by leaving a million dollars in a bag next to our car in a parking lot. We take the bag full of cash we go down for grand theft, we leave it we are free. Great way of weeding out all dishonest potential theives right? Why not do that and just keep doing it until all the potential theive's are caught. then we have a theft free country.
Child porn is bad but entrapment is also bad. |

The moment you allow cops to entrap, the system has no meaning. Idiots support entrapment. |
I think its a great idea, but right on that line of whether it is entrapment or not. Do I think people that wanna see cp or abuse are sick and wrong, yes! I think the law enforcement there is on the right path... but maybe took that shady fork in the road at some point.

Awesome shit :thumbsup
I wonder if they have had the site SEO'd up though to make sure they catch as many of the fucks as possible? |
Now, this is some stupid shit. How the hell are they supposed to prove who is infront of the computer????
And what if it is 13 years old Jim who is sitting at his fathers computer looking for girls in his own age.... |
I think that is quiet stupid. At least give the guy an option to join, once he joins then okay he's certainly looking to get child porn. For instance, sometimes I click on Next quickly without even seeing the pages, all of a sudden I'll be a criminal? But then again I've been almost 10 years on the internet and never encountred a child porn site so you'll have to be searching for such a thing to find it I guess.
|
I can completely imagine what is going to happen with this... tons of people who just stumble upon it and click through not because they're pedo's but because they're seeing something out of the ordinary.
Tons of people stop to watch car wrecks... doesn't mean they get off on them, or would cause them :2 cents: |
I just saw this thread because it was top yestarday's thread ( I do not think so looking at the number of replies, but nevermind ).
They must have some good SEO specialists but I wonder where they get the content for that site :Graucho |
