Need AVS advice.
I am working on my first strictly adult site. Right now I am purchasing content and working on designs and hosting. Next step, to figure out who to use as an avs. I have checked out proadult and cyberage, but I get lost in all the sales pitch and I am unsure how it all works and who offers a better solution.
What are my options, and who do you think provides a better service? Thanks! I'm gonna go and fuck myself now. |
make sure you stick with the bigger guys or you might be wasting your time...most smaller ones are disappearing...

Dont do any recurring based..
use http://nakedpass.com http://sexypassport.com http://sexkey.com http://freeagecard.com We run the first 2..the others are solid..they are free 20.00 pps AVS systems. None of them are offselling memberships to other companys so you dont have to worry about babenet type of crap happening and they all pay out quickly.. Just remember when Visa hits with penalty's , any company is fair game..so worry about all your money..not just AVS.. |
You should spend a few hours reading up on these topics by using the search feature here and at www.avsfriendly.com and www.avslounge.com

Great! Thanks for all the advice, I am going to go read up on it now.
:thumbsup |
Here's what you need to do. You need to duplicate your frontend, and use several AVS's to see which converts best for you. What other people tell you are the best onverting AVS's are helpful, but what works for them may not work for you.
I always actively promote at least 3 AVS's at a time, right now I am promoting Freeagecard for the $25 per free trial, SexKey, and Cyberage, and I rotate in several others whenever I tap into a traffic stream that works better with em. I know people who make a killing on Free Trial AVS's and can't sell a full membership avs to save their life, and I have refered several people to Free AVS's from their recurring ones and couldn't give away the memberships. See what works for you :thumbsup |

twistyneck,
if you cant see someones chargebacks..they could easily be shutdown with visa within the next 6 months..wait till these fines come flying out to some of these huge programs.. if they lose their visa priveleges..all rebills are gone as well.. he asked for advice..i gave him mine.. your rebills are not your rebills, its not YOUR master account..they are the companys that you are being paid by.. |
hershie, it's because the whole "AVS Game" is alot different than it was 97 - 2001, AVS's have wised up and they don't feed alot of traffic to their linklist anymore to attract webmasters cause AVS's have wised up and realized 90% of their money come from webmasters that bring their own traffic. They don't need dozens of feeders per webmasters since they can just make em themselves with a $200 script and not have to deal with approving sites, worring about cheaters etc..
Traffic is still there, most notably at Sexkey partly because they have had the strict 10% sales to sites rules for years now. TGP's have become the AVS's linklist of the past, instead of bothering with a whole site you just post your pics in a neat little gallery. |

AVS sites can make good money on TGP's but you have have a pretty unique site with really good content, otherwise you are offering a $30 a month membership to a site with 20 to a 100 pictures of the same picture set on the sites that have 50k pics and a gazilion video feeds and stuff.
There are plenty of people on my board that make an assload of money using TGP's to promote their AVS sites, but most use smaller TGP's that have high quality traffic, not the run of the mill 250k a day TGP's with all their pitfalls. |

Ive been doing "AVS" since 1998 and it is still the only thing that I make real any money at.
1. Find a niche that you like. I mean, if you are into trannies then produce tranny sites. When looking for content ask yourself if you would be turned on, or would you pay to see more? If the answer is yes then you have won half the battle. 2. If you can, find an AVS that deals exclusivly with that content, its amazing how many there are around. 3. A lot of guys here will disagree, but quanity is the key with AVS. Build a site, promote it to your fav link lists and forget it. Move on to the next one. 4. Once you have a good few AVS sites up and running build free sites that promote the AVS sites. Your own link list, with just your own AVS sites works well. Just promote it on your free sites. I promote only gay sites this way with one of the smaller AVSs, GlobalMalePass, I still convert at 1 in 12. Just remember, if YOU get a hard-on looking at the front page then it will sell. Hope that helps |

Our most succesful AVS guys have a very few number of sites..
Our top webmasters have less than 10 sites in the system. But if you can find traffic.. and get it to your sites..that works too i guess..just depends what you have, but i think focusing and getting a flagship built up will lead you to more success.. |
I would say that the key to the avs is to pick your niches well, and try to dominate them. Keep your sites on niche specfic domains. Makes sure you link to those sites from your root. You can make clusters of of niche directed domains with avs sites that feature those particular niches.
Do not hope for links list sales. You would only be kidding yourself. Just harvest good SE traffic. Have a main site you have built for the particular avs to, and make that the center of your attention while building in a healthy mix of other feeder and premium level sites. A healty niche selection, url organization, and feature site are a good backbone. Building more sites after that will help, but don't do the build and forget thing. Eventually, people will figure out you are leaching the link lists, and also, you will forever be buying more content and having to build more sites. Stick with promoting a nice site in your system, and then build at a moderate pace from there. Above, all... Push traffic to your nicest site. |
Don't make the mistake I first made when I started AVS-ing, that mistake being settle for just one AVS!
Use as many Premium AVS as you can find - create doorway tour pages for each AVS inside folders. So FNP Premium gateway would go in a fnp folder and so on. Some Premium AVS require you have unique members pages, so for those AVS make copies of your members pages and point the AVS to those pages. You can use the same content in a master content folder, just has to be unique pages (read the site requirements to see what I mean) Then create a bunch of feeders site (500 minimum) with about 30 pictures in for each site. Promote your main Premium site inside those feeder sites the same way you would promote a sponsor (i.e. banners, text links, etc) For example, if you have a FNP Premium site, feed it with a bunch of FNP regular site and so on for each premium AVS you are using. For those AVS that do not have a premium site option, pick your favorite premium AVS and promote that Premium AVS's doorway to your main site. Be sure to read the terms of service for the AVS. Some get pissed off if you are promoting other AVS sites and a lot don't care! Also, submit those feeder sites to as many link lists as you can as free site or AVS sites (depending on the link list). Flow :2 cents: |
AVS = Dead
R.I.P. only a matter of time to my mind |
There are sooo many ways to promote AVS's. Gotta do what works for you.
Right now what works for me is, I have a couple sites that convert better than any other sponsor site out there, so I treat it like a paysite, I buy traffic for it, banner placements, SEO it, build SE doorways, and it makes a fuck load of money for me. Many make alot by creating 100's of sites and sticking them in a hub and promoting the hub. There's no 1 right way to do it, there's no 1 way that's better than another, it's whatever you can do that makes money, but the only to find that out is to try a buncha different things. For people that say AVS is dead, I'd put my AVS profits up against anyones TGP's income or Paysite income. Sure you may run a paysite that has affiliates, but after you cut your checks to them I bet I have more in my account than you :thumbsup The other thing to keep in mind, don't put all your eggs in one basket, AVS income is only a part of my income, I spread the love around to paysites, sponsor sites, free sites, mainstream stuff, offline stuff. In this industry you can't afford to be 100% vested in one thing. |
So, it sounds like most of you would agree that using the "free hosting" on these avs is a bad idea. My problem is that I am going to have many videos, and I can imagine the bandwidth is going to be heavy.
All of this info is very helpful, thank you all for your contribution! |

Okay, so now to find reasonable hosting... One other newbie question...on tours, how explicit can you get? Are there legal issues with having explicit images that people can see without being a member? |
Nookie,
nobody will tell you what you need to know..just try them all..and look at your stats..some avs's people pump up, will send you ZERO traffic..and yes I mean ZER0.. Both of our AVS's are setup to return traffic to: 1. sites that are sending signups 2. new sites Older sites sending no signups are archived into an archive list. Id offer you free hosting but movies can burn SERIOUS bandwidth..but they can be very profitable if run right.. Chris |

just dont forget..
repeat after me... dont do a recurring avs.. get your money quickly as possible! Take a look at ANY larger program avs or non.. do their exits point to recurring based programs?? 95% of links I would say NO.. So why would you?? This is only my opinion and yes we only do pay per signup.. |
