Uk Dialer Redirection... hall of shame!!!

Most Uk surfers have credit cards
Uk surfers sign up for paysites
The Uk is one of the most important e-commerce countries
Oh, and the last I heard we speak English here, even invented English... and spreaded it through the world, thanks to the good old Empire :)
But yeah.... Uk dialers pay over $1/minute

So why the hell are some sponsors redirecting UK traffic to a dialer without paying the affiliate?
They shouldn't be redirecting to a dialer in the first place... but at least they should give the webmasters credit for the dialer minutes.

UK traffic is about 5-7% of total internet traffic and is very profitable.
So basically, redirecting UK traffic to dialers is like stealing 5-7% of your income.

Then there is also Germany. From what I heard the Germans are more cautious at digging out their credit card.. but again German dialer routes pay very well and webmasters should get credit. If some sponsors are redirecting UK traffic to dialers then I am sure this also applies to Germany... although I have not checked this.

Krome was complaining about Vivid Cash doing this, but I have not checked...

But I do know PornKings are redirecting UK traffic to dialers.

I would also like to commend the efforts of sponsors like Nasty Dollars and ARS who pay on all dialers, also from I heard this will be a new feature on TCG3.

This post is directed at all webmasters, because we are all losing money every month here. Perhaps UK webmasters can help to verify...

We should make it clear this is not exactly fair to Uk surfers, and specially not fair to any webmaster who is not being paid for his/her traffic.

So far... PornKings is on the list for redirect Uk dialer traffic without paying their affiliates.

Which others?

And if nobody gives a shit, then I apologize for wasting your time.

It fucking sucks how the US send UK surfers to dialers and try to tell the affiliates it is because the UK surfers dont have credit cards. That is a load of lying bullshit. It is because the UK surfer is higher money per minute than any other country.

When I used to send traffic to Vivid (Before it turned utter shit) when they first redirected the UK surfer to the dialer my revenue dropped by 99%. The affiliate should have the choice not the choice enforced upon him.

Personally I think the surfer should not be redirected at all and should just arrive at a page which says:

Pay By Credit Card
Pay by Cheque
Pay by your phone bill

Give the surfer the choice and they buy. No-one likes to be forced to do anything.

The view of redirecting UK surfers to dialers is made by the one of the worlds most retarded countries who think they own the globe.

Judge a country by its leader.

More on Vivid...

When I go to the site through my affiliate link I get sent to the standard credit card sign up page.

When I go direct to Vivid.com then I get sent to a dialer.

This is still a bit retarted but it is their traffic after all. What I am opposed to is sponsors redirecting traffic from their affiliates to dialers, and not paying them for it.
Specially for a country like the UK where almost everybody has a credit card.

i believe that every person that has their browser set for the english language would have good cards.

I know that the ARS dialer redirects all countries except for Canada and the US.

but basically you have to get with the new times of the industry. with the new VISA regs and proccessors are scrubbing harder than ever.

Its alot easy to recieve chargebacks countries other than US. For one you can't use the AVS system to match billing address in foriegn countries

by now every webmaster should be geo-targeting your links to sponsor

Simply very, very wrong. In the UK especially it can be almost impossible with many credit card companies to chargeback. Although it can be done it requires a LOT of hassle and a lot of paperwork with most of them. The ease at which it can be done with many US companies means UK traffic really isn't a big problem with chargebacks in comparrison.

The biggest point though is broadband is starting to become BIG in the UK. We have some of the cheapest broadband around now and with stuff like the xbox pushing it hard, as well as the ISP's, it's slowly becomming almost the standard. Diallers don't work with broadband despite companies poor attempts to get around that. So...not only do you lose sales from traffic with heavy credit card ownership, it now also gets sent to a system which a huge % of users are totally incompatible with. Brilliant marketing all round :1orglaugh

It's a choice of each sponsor, if & which traffic they redirects. But if they redirects some traffic, they must tell their affiliates which & how much are they going to pay them for this traffic(for me 75% of dialer revenue is fair). If they don't tell their affiliates(or just hide this information somewhere in terms & conditions, where nobody will read it) that, it's a money stealing crime & I when I find it out, I won't promote their sites anymore.

With the free scripts now that allow you to geotarget your own traffic its something you can do. Filter it yourself and make sure you send to a sponsor who doesn't use dialers.

so you know what this means?
it is because vivid only redirects on type in traffic. they do not redirect for affiliate traffic because they do not have a system to pay out on it YET.

people i know who redirect uk traffic make twice to 3 times as much off of uk traffic than offering a choice to surfers.

We are just testing the dialers right now to see what earns more revenue.
When the test is over we will add dialer payouts to your stats.

Pornkings is always tweaking there sites, text, join pages etc. to earn more
Revenue for the webmaster. Our goal is to make you the most to earn more of your business.

Johny Traffic 12-17-2003 12:18 PM

some people redirect becuase the UK market and traffic pays out better than anywhere else in the world on both credit cards and dailers, choose a company who dont redirect, its your traffic and should be your money :2 cents:

scooby doo as scooby does 12-17-2003 01:39 PM

Heh, I don't understand the rationale behind this either. It's not like UK surfers are unwilling to get the card out, it's not like they chargeback much at all. And to cap it, diallers have a pretty bad reputation in the UK thru previous bad practises. I can't believe sites that redirect UK surfers make more money on the diallers. There doing something horribly wrong if that's the case.

But, business is business, if Vivid, Pornkings, whoever, wanna do this, then that's just more surfers for my sites. So all in all, I ain't complaining. Long may it continue.

Hal 12-17-2003 06:27 PM

well roger at porn kings, when do you actually plan to finish the testing phase and actutally payout on the UK dialer?

it has been awhile.......................
