Is it true that stripclub owners don't want their DJ to play rap music in their club because it will attract too many black people and black folks don"t spend?

That what a stripclub DJ in Ontario told me!

Think about it, who the hell goes to strip clubs to listen to music?

the music they play at clubs is the strippers choice

about the only people that listen to rap are black and white kids under 20, and white men with peter pan syndrome.

Not the best of spenders, and that music would be a big turn off to the average customer

Don't think rap songs are played cause it's hard to dance to and they're usually not very sexy sounding. Not that dancers dance anyways, it always is the slo-mo moves to whatevers playing is usually the only type of "dance". :2 cents:

I show a show on TV that said the same thing ... apparently black people don't spend as muhc or something along those lines.

only about 1/3rd of the music played at strip clubs is requested by the dancers, the rest is just "pop" music that has a good beat for strippers to shake their asses to, Ive DJ'ed strip clubs and the black clientele that came into our club usually spent more then the white people did

The last time I went to a strip club they were playing Tunder Struck by AC/DC, Closer (I wann fuck you like an animal) by NIN aother hard-rock song I don't recall. They would only play slow songs every second song.

i've been to plenty of strip clubs and they always mix up the music from rap to rock. they want peoples money plane and simple so they dont really discriminate by me

I have seen it first hand many...MANY times.

If you show up to the Atlanta Webmaster Access show, I will introduce you to a DJ friend of mine and he can fill you in on some of this stuff.

And if the stripper has any common sense at all...She will cater her music to the customers. The problem with the average stripper is that they are fucking stupid and usually manage to over look this fact. You don't play rap music if the bar is full of rednecks and you don't play country if it is full of punk rockers.


Not if you want to make any money anyway.

I could go on for hours about this shit. I spent 2 or 3 years working with a friend who books strippers in Portland clubs. What a fucking nightmare. :321GFY

I like a lot of rap music though...it's got a good beat...liking music with a good beat isn't Peter Pan syndrome. Dressing like a gangsta when your 30....yah...that is.

I swear all the white DJ's sound the same behind the microphone in the strip clubs. I been to all kinds of strip clubs and its hard as hell not to spend any money in a black strip club. The DJ will surely call you out and embarrass the fuck out of you in the club
