What if Saddam is found "NOT GUILTY" in his trial?

Will he go home to Tikrit?

Spunky 12-16-2003 12:33 PM

He will be found guilty and executed the day after the trial according to the Iranian government.

EZRhino 12-16-2003 12:34 PM

I would say he would still find his life threated by the Isreali Mossad. Hes a walking target no matter what.

Sosa 12-16-2003 12:41 PM

Like he will be found not guilty...

If that happens I'll poop on a monkey

Rich 12-16-2003 01:05 PM

Why would he be found not guilty? I don't think even Johnny Cochran could get that bastard off. He's either dead or in jail for life, anything else would be an outrage.

JDog 12-16-2003 01:09 PM

No, when they select a jury (if they do) since it isn't going to be a WARCRIMES trial. The head Iraqi's are going to ask the jury this question:

"Has Suddam killed any of your relatives or friends?"

If they say yes, their on the jury, and if they have a jury full of victims, he's guilty! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I never would have said this here, without the fear of being labelled a US hater or an anti-semite...

But you are right on the spot:

Israel planned to kill Saddam

By Barbara Plett
BBC correspondent in Jerusalem

Israel has revealed there was a plan to assassinate Saddam Hussein in 1992, but the operation was called off after a training accident.
The military censor lifted the ban on publishing the story following the capture of the former Iraqi leader.

The plan was meant to retaliate for Iraqi Scud missile attacks on Israel during the 1991 Gulf War.

For years there had been rumours that Israel plotted to kill Saddam Hussein shortly after the war.

Now that the former Iraqi leader has been captured Israeli officials have confirmed that was indeed the plan.

Commandos

The idea was to drop Israeli commandos deep inside Iraqi territory.

They were supposed to fire specially designed missiles at Saddam Hussein during the funeral of his uncle.

Israeli officials said training for the operation was approved by the late prime minister, Yitzhak Rabin.

But the plan was never brought before the government for final approval and it was dropped when five soldiers were killed by a live missile used accidentally during an exercise.

The assassination was meant to retaliate for Scud missile attacks from Baghdad during the war.

Israel did not respond at the time because of intense pressure from the United States, but many security officials felt that Israel's restraint had undermined its deterrence capability.

One said hitting Saddam Hussein was seen as a strategic necessity.

Amazing... Now Israel has attacked a month back Syria ... Does this gives " carte blanche" to the Syrians to attempt to kill Sharon ( convicted of war crimes in an International court) ?

MetaMan 12-16-2003 01:37 PM

he will be found guilty.

the USA arent going to put him in a court of a country who opposes the USAs policy just because its the USA.

he will in no doubt be found guilty, i think they will keep him in jail being interogated until Iraq is built enough to have a trial. and he will of course be found guilty.

I don't think that he has a chance of being found not guilty. I am sure that they will have a hearing that will swiftly find him guilty of hundreds of things.

Bryan Havoc 12-16-2003 03:02 PM

Well, OJ wasn't found guilty, so I guess anything can happen.

pornguy 12-16-2003 03:11 PM

If you think that for one second that the us would let him be found not guilty, you are insane...

I still dont think that it is him. I think that they made a deal with the real guy, and this is a double...
