In this handout picture made available Tuesday Oct. 28, 2003 by the Israel-based Cornershot Co. in Tel Aviv, Israel, a rifle is seen composed of two parts; the front, that can swivel from side to side, containing a pistol with a color camera mounted on top, and the back section which consists of the stock, trigger and a monitor. According to a report by the Israeli daily 'Maariv' newspaper, the pistol, produced by the Florida-based Cornershot Holdings, is being tested by the Israeli military and has already been bought by a number of special forces around the world. The unique weapon allows a soldier to remain behind cover, with only the barrel of the rifle exposed in the direction of the hostile fire.

Yep Xen is right... the Nazi's invented the first gun that actually worked for shooting around a corner. I read an article about a bunch of things they had come up with... it always puzzled me how that could work. :helpme

It seems like you could rig up something that would fit most any handgun with some type of pulley system. All its got to do is hold it steady, pull the trigger and match the scope with the barrell.

It's a gimmick. This way you end up with a soldier carrying a rifle with the range and stopping power of a handgun. Can't see any serious military going for it.

This might eliminate the need to shoot like a friggin' cowboy and maybe reduce the bystander casualty rate.

However I doubt many of these pricey weapons will see homey arsenals any time soon.

This is a great way to lay down cover fire, or see where the 'bad guys' are. Just the ability to look around corners without exposing yourself makes it valuable, not to mention cooler than a mirror + gum + knife combo.

Too right.... They mostly like the idea of HUD that keeps the eye
linked to the aim of the barrel. The Israeli's will get some for
shooting kids while keeping out of camera view tho.

Don't think 9mm pistols count as cover fire.
