2-Way Radios - Suggestions?

I'm buying a set of 2-way radios/walkie talkies as a gift. Any recommendations? I'm looking at 5mile range, rechargeable NiMH batteries & solid construction. This is a gift for a total tech head type, any other cool features I should be looking for?

Get the Motorla's... rugged as hell, reliable as hell....

5 mile range is 'variable' on any.. depends on interferance... country you get better range, city... plan on 2 miles tops...

Motorola's are definitely the popular way to go, there sold about anywhere. I've heard questionable reviews of them in use though. :2 cents:
