I wanted to see the 2nd one, but then I remembered that I didn't understand the first one. It like ended right when they were going to do something.

loco12 12-15-2003 08:54 AM

Less than 48 hours to go before the greatest film of all time hits the cinemas!!

This one is going to knoch the Godfather off the top of the IMDB.com rankings and has alread been hailed by the world film critics as the masterpeice of our times.

All hail Peter Jackson for making my dreams a reality!

MYYYYYYYYY PPPPPPRECCCCIIIIOOOOUUUUSSSSSSSSSSS!

I have to wait until Sunday afternoon for the following reasons:
1) Our theater does not start showing new movies until Friday
2) Friday and Saturday nights are date nights (I hate going just to see college kids kissing and holding hands in the seats before me)
3) Our theater gives a discount on Sunday afternoon (hey, I can actually buy a large pop with the two dollars that I save on ticket prices)
4) Nobody hardly goes to the movies on Sunday afternoon (there were only two of us for Scary Movie 2 and about a dozen for the first two LOTR movies)

They rented us a theater here so everyone at work can see it wednesday. They did it last year for two towers and for the second matrix. The 3rd matrix they rented the IMAX.

Can't turn down a free movie... especially opening day and you get to skip work...

oooops. If any partners read this, I will have all inquiries answered on wednesday before COB :winkwink:

The first one makes a lot more sense when you watch the second.. the second is 10x better anyways, hopefully the third one will be even better :)

I agree, one of the few times in movie history where the sequel is better than the first movie.

Wiseman 12-15-2003 01:09 PM

The hobbit has been mentioned...it would be cool :) but it'll probably be at least 3 years before it'd be out.

I have seen 'The Fellowship of the Ring' like 20 times I love that movie!! And I just bought them both on DVD..gonna see them both and then go to the last one!!

Ironhorse 12-15-2003 02:09 PM

I'm going friday and taking the kids. Can't wait :thumbsup

GonePhishing 12-15-2003 02:14 PM

Waiting until after X-mas!

loco12 12-15-2003 02:26 PM

The Hobbit isn't going to be made as there are too many problems with different companies involved. United Artists own the distribution rights, and New Line have the rights to make it. Peter Jackson said he would loke to make it, but neither of the companies want to give up their rights to what is obviously a huge money maker and a billion dollar movie.

So it's stale mate at the moment.

Anyway Peter Jackson is just about to start on his new film, a remake of a little known movie called......King Kong!

Damn, you can actually buy a large pop (or soda if you're from the east coast) for $2? In SoCal, it's about $4 for a large pop, and the same for a large popcorn bucket.

At least here on GFY, the popcorn is free :thumbsup

Yea, SoCal is fucking expensive, the Irvine Spectrum is like $4.50 for a large one. I hate going there, but love it at the same time!

In Vegas to see a movie 2 adults 2 kids $23.00 *always matinees*

Large popcorn and drinks all around $19.00 1 large, 3 mediums.

I remember back when I lived in LA price for a movie was $7-$8 and that was over 10 years ago...wonder what the price is now.
