why cant i KEEP my traffic?

i had a few days lately where i had like 2000 hits...but now the last couple days its been like barely any hits. i have traffic trade links and topsites links...why cant i keep a steady stream of traffic?

2,000 hits isn't enough to judge "steady" traffic by.
