Saddam and the Geneva Convention
Umm, Saddam is a prisoner of war, is he not?
Didn't they just make a huge deal about OUR prisoners of war being shown on television while the war was in full swing? They've been showing Saddam, though. Not that I personally care about him, but it does seem to be a violation of the Geneva convention. Anyone know if he is being classified as a prisoner of war? From the Geneva Convention: "Prisoners of war must at all times be humanely treated. (...) Likewise, prisoners of war must at all times be protected, particularly against acts of violence or intimidation and against insults and public curiosity." I'm just curious as to what they're calling him. Seems the U.S. are being extremely hypocritical if he's a prisoner of war and they're showing him on TV when they made such a huge deal about Al-Jazeera showing our POWs. Of course, does anyone really care? :1orglaugh I don't think that even his own country is going to defend him and try to bring this up now. |
