Affiliates, how do you like your partner content formatted for download?

We are working on adding a nice big partner content section to Spooky Cash this week and I'd like to get some feedback on how people like it formatted.

Do you prefer to have everything thumbnailed so you can see every pic or is one representative thumb sufficient so you know what you are downloading? I know I don't like text links, but a thumb makes me happy.

Do you like to be able to do a zip download by set or for everything available to promote a site?

Do you prefer that the partner content area be password-protected, so not everyone has seen your promo content or do you find a password a pain-in-the-ass? Would a secret URL emailed to you be a good compromise option on that? Or do you just prefer that the content is as easy for you to get to as possible?

Lastly, any thoughts on how many pictures/sets are useful to have to promote a particular site?

Chris 12-14-2003 02:01 AM

1) always password protect your content area!

2) I say three thumbnails of the content in the zip would be good enough to understand the type of content they will get in the zip =)

SoundMan 12-14-2003 02:04 AM

zip in one folder - no sub folders! dont need to add thumbs.

Like a directory with a series of zips in it, one for each site or one for each set or just one giant zip of everything available to promote the program?

You could always give your affilate all of those choices =)

A couple thumb previews, the content should be correctly categorized by site name with a good description. It is also nice to be able to download maybe all the available content for a site, depending on how much there is probably not if theres like 2000 pics.

Password protection of the zip files is fine if you can get instant access to the password, but it can get annoying after like 5 times, I think I prefer the content to just be in the protected webmasters area so I don't have to mess with a password at all.

The problem with most free content is that its absolute shit, either really old random pics which arn't in a series, or they are too small to even use properly or have a huge ass logo on them. Either that or they arn't categorized at all and oyu have to spend hours going over everything trying to sort them out.

I like my content formatted in jpg, with thumbnails, and hand fucking delivered to me by a stunningly beautiful sex goddess who enjoys have meaningful one night stands with complete strangers.

In all honesty, this is a good question. I'll be watching this thread.

You boys want to work something out for an unholy traffic exchange of some sort between Church Upskirts and Barely Evil and I'll do my darnedest to find you a sex goddess who enjoys meaningful one night stands with guys *exactly* like you :1orglaugh

Seriously, I really like the innovative way you all have it so that not everyone has exactly the same stuff, but I find I don't tend to get around to the FTP.

We will definitely have series, probably mostly stuff around 600x800, probably will have logos on them but not huge ones. Does 600x800 seem okay for size? Any particular categorizations useful to you all?

600x800 is definitly fine i was talking about the 420x300's or something that suck. logos are fine too and usually expected just irritating when they are large and get in the way of the picture, especially if the picture is small.

can't really think of anything else right now, as long as I can get my hands on the content right away and not have to wait days for a content request or password request to come through its all good.

I think we will automail the content info on signup and then maybe change the pass from time to time and send it to affiliates. One time login type of pass, not one where it has to be reentered for every zip downloaded.

Don't know if this helps - This is the way I have set up things - Take
a look

(I have removed the need to log in as a temp. measure) All images are full sized and come in packs of 25 - 50, so the partner has a choice of pics and can crop, compress to his liking.

why rar files? I have winrar so it doesn't bother me but I imagine that others would prefer zip files.

:2 cents:

Why not - I would have though most people use rar as it does both zip and rar (unzippes, that is)
Plus I do give the link to get a 30 day trial download -

But - My post was to show AmeliaG a way of showing content to her partners - Not really to discuss unzip programmes -

You know I think your program is totally one I signed up for and then didn't have the password handy to get content and then didn't get around to it. I'm definitely of two minds on the password thing. On the one hand, I want to be able to give partners a significant amount of content to use, but I don't want the promo content diluted and less useful to partners for having already all been seen, so I want to protect my nice fresh content, but I want to make it easy for affiliates. If you get a chance, Dyker, please hit me up on ICQ at 337070007

I prefer a password to the members area of the site where I can go in and select the content that I want to use to promote. Of course you may not want to give this to everyone, but those who ask and are willing to agree to terms you specify this is the best way to go. Otherwise a basic thumb contact page with a few clickable samples suffices and then download individual sets as zips.

The partner area is normally protected - I "unprotected" it solely to show you (and others) How I lay out the content for webmasters -

I guess there are many ways of doing it -

The area will be pass protected again in the morning!

pudcat 12-14-2003 03:55 PM

nasty dollars make it so convenient for me... I don't need to download a 10 meg zip file to only use a few images.

shermo 12-14-2003 04:29 PM

When I select content to use, I generally like to see 1 representitive thumbnail with a description to tell me what else is inside. I feel zips should be seperated by shoots.
ie. Amber and her toy - Download this zip.

Each zip should have 20 pics to select from. I generally use 15, so I like to have the option to delete 5.

Thumbnails are not important to include. Any gallery maker should have a way to create thumbs on the fly, plus I like to generate them after I optimize the images.

The content should be PW protected, but I think it should still be easy to access. Affiliates need content, and once having their PW verified at the login, content access shouldn't be hidden behind a secret URL. I've had sponsers email me "secret url's" for content and generally when it comes time to DL content for a set, I'm too lazy to search through my emails for the information. Affiliate ease is the key.

Amelia...Now that you've got your response and an affiliate signup, please don't use your evil powers on me again to do anything else. :sadcrying

Sarah_Jayne 12-14-2003 04:30 PM

yeah I hate it when I get free content burried in a ton of sub folders. Also, give me atleast one thumb so I have an idea of what I am downloading but then don't bother to thumbnail the images inside the zip folder because I am willing to bet I am just going to re-thumb them to the size I want.

Juicy D. Links 12-14-2003 04:38 PM

Iam starting to get some GOTHIC WOOD by checkout your your models

Brad-Wishing 12-14-2003 05:52 PM

Some thumbnails to get an idea of what is in a set.. and download the whole lot.

Like I said, it is all about evil mind control powers combined with a high quality program bwa ha ha ha ha hahahahahahaha...

Now I just have to think about what else I want you to do :evil-laug

Seriously, thanks for the feedback. And thanks for signing up! I'm going to have to think on what to do for number of pix from a set. I've been putting together sets of 15 pix, but I hadn't thought about the fact that a lot of people might want to edit.

Any preferences on horizontal vs. vertical vs. a mix as far as orientation of images goes? Is that one of the things one might edit a set for?

- AFN - 12-14-2003 09:58 PM

Don't put labels on the pics and they'd sell better. Labelled pics suck and are too "commercial" for the surfer. I run niche sites and my surfers don't dig on "labelled commercial" content.

Good point. I'm always baffled by programs which give me whole sets of thumbs in the zip download but don't show me what I'm downloading.

I prefer either 1 or the other. A mix of orientation is sloppy looking when looking at a gallery. The more uniform the better!

As far as getting me to do other things... We're alright unless it involves my ass, large objects and nipple clamps!
:1orglaugh

reynold 12-15-2003 04:33 AM

Yeah, don't use labelled pics.

Lightspeedcash didn't use labelled pics and sure some Tawnee Stone stuff got pilferred but it put LSC on the map.

I've done the members area thing on a limited please-ask-me basis before, but some of my girls flip out if they appear on other sites -- like if someone grabs one pic and reposts it -- so I probably couldn't do that on more than a very limited scale with webmasters I kind of know.

Carrie 12-15-2003 10:54 AM

No rar or tar files. If you want to make it easy for your affiliates, use zip.
*Most* affiliates don't even know what rar and tar are.

You're serious? So we have to treat the average webmaster like the average surfer now? How people like that survive in this business is beyond me.. :2 cents:

AmeliaG 12-15-2003 11:18 AM

Okay, so far:

Definitely password protect content
Only have to enter password once
Zip files
15-20 picture sets where possible
At least one preview thumb
Don't need thumbs in download files
Larger sized pix preferred
Possibly categorize pictures
Some people don't like URL marking on images

I'd love to hear more opinions on the URL label thing. I think almost everyone stamps labels on their content currently. I want to make affiliates as happy as humanly possible, but, even if an affiliate puts their content on a page which is great for promoting a Spooky Cash site, it is unrealistic to think no surfer will ever grab pix and repost them elsewhere. I sort of want people to know my stuff when they see it -- both for the obvious sales reasons and for creative ones as well.
