UPS loses shit ALL THE TIME. Go FedEx or USPS.

hottoddy 12-13-2003 11:43 PM

Depends but in my experience UPS and FedEx ground are priced very similar. You can go to their websites and get exact pricing if you know zipcodes, weights and dimensions.

USPS is alot more for heavier items than UPS - never really used FEDEX.

Nah USPS covers it all believe it or not and pretty good pricing too. But FedEx Home might work if it's residential.

Not in my experience. Items over 5 lbs. are alot cheaper w/ UPS - plus UPS price includes insurance up to $100 and has free tracking. USPS you have to pay extra for both of those services.

Speaking of insurance, does anyone know if FEDEX includes a certain amount of insurance per item?

sickkittens 12-13-2003 11:53 PM

Just used their calculators on their sites... looks like FEDEX is usually 10-20% cheaper on most shipments

GonePhishing 12-14-2003 12:03 AM

I would pay the extra and go with Fedex. Fedex is always on time or early.

fsfaz 12-14-2003 12:16 AM

Fedex all the way. UPS does loose shit and is always fucking late. Never a day early. Fedex Ground sometimes takes 1 day east coast to west. Worth the extra $2.

UPS just started giving the drivers moving trucks (they actually say Penske on the side) for business routes. I see these guys throw the boxes in the back of these moving trucks and haul ass..

go with FedEx (they got some crazy ass drivers too) or USPS

Flying Tigers ! (anyone remember them?)

Yeah, I just noticed that myself. I was at the mall and some dude was parked out front with a largest UHAUL truck packed with boxes - with UPS crudely scrawled on the side. Strange ... I wonder if it's just for the holidays.

Penske only keeps their trucks for 2 years after production. They make their money back and then sell them off to keep the fleet young. We rented a Penske for our last move. It was a gorgeous 20-footer with 5,000 miles on it.

Depends where you are shipping to.
