HBO Show: Carnivale

Finally, a show featuring turn of the century circus freaks!
What does everyone think of Carnivale? Looks like one of the best Series to come out in a while...sorry just all this Sopranos talk got me on the subject...

Carnivale is shot so well, the story is great and the casting seems perfect...check it out sometime.

yup i watched the whole season. it was definately the most unique series i've seen.

DoubleD 12-13-2003 03:51 PM

yea, it rocked. The only problem the season finale left so many questions..oh well I guess thats how they hook ya.
It also gets a 10 on my wierd little midget rating...great stuff!

Carnivale is the best new series on TV. Great art direction, writing, acting, its solid and very creative. Thank God for HBO. The only network daring enough to try something new and unsafe. Luckily, HBO relies on subscription viewers and not commercials to pay for their shows. A network like NBC would have cancelled it long ago since the average Joe Viewer would be confused and frightened of it since its not about doctors, lawyers, cops or metrosexuals being unfunny. Can't wait to get the DVD series of the show. Check out the reruns if you missed it this season. 12 episodes is way too short...gotta wait a whole year now to see what happens. Gotta love midgets and freaks.

I hear that, It probably did scare a few people who were looking for, "the world's scariest [blank]" or "cops" or something. When I saw this, I thought, finally a show that is original, not some crappy remake or some shite like you see all over the big screen...

The casting directors claimed they were looking for unusual types... what does it say that yours truly got called to audition twice?
One of the roles was for a "gaunt farmer." FYI, Big Lou is deffo not gaunt.
I still haven't seen the show. Whenever I watch something I was called in for, but not cast in, I scream hysterically and leave the room, so my roommate has it on v-chip block.

I greatly enjoyed the first season of Carnivale. The good news is that the second season has been given the green light. The bad news is that we will not see the second season until the end of 2004.

I couldn't agree more, I really enjoyed Carnevale. Our whole office is addicted to the Sopranos, but I love HBO in general.

I watched the whole season of Carnevale, and though it was very
weird, offbeat and often indecipherable, I couldn't help but be glued to every episode. So it will join my list of favorites along with the Soprano's and The Shield.

I just hate waiting a year to get some answers.

Oh well...

yea HBO rocks Carnivale was pretty dam good, it dose suck how it ended though, specially being the wait 4 the next season will be so long. Other good shows are of course the Sopranos, Band of Brothers and The Wire.

With all the great shows they come out with, kinda makes you wonder what they were smoking when they came up with Arliss.
