Best Sci-Fi movie!! Common nerds share!!

I think Farscape was the best!!!

Whats urs?

Madball 12-13-2003 01:25 PM

Bladerunner:

http://www.bleyenberg.de/kultfilme/bladerunner.jpg

Best movie Ridley Scott ever made and he's done a bunch of good ones. Insane soundtrack by Vangelis.

I dunno, i thougt it was a little bit boring...

DoubleD 12-13-2003 01:32 PM

I'd say Alien as the best...made lots of money...and the design by HR Giger was great...scary guy.

Elli 12-13-2003 01:41 PM

Aw dangit, I thought i was going to be the only one to say Bladerunner.

Ya gotta love Star Wars, though, at least the original three. Alien was really good, too.

digi 12-13-2003 01:42 PM

old star wars movies
alien 1+2

DoubleD 12-13-2003 01:48 PM

one word...SPACEBALLS

Shoplifter 12-13-2003 01:49 PM

Bladerunner is near the top of my list. It has incredible atmosphere.

Forbidden Planet is kool as well.

Scott McD 12-13-2003 01:50 PM

Star Wars
Empire Strikes Back
Return Of The Jedi
Aliens

Didn't like Bladerunner, and the 2 newer Star Wars movies were the worst ever.

TheMaster 12-13-2003 01:57 PM

Empire Strikes Back

hottoddy 12-13-2003 01:58 PM

Wasn't Farscape a series? I don't remember a movie.

I gotta go with Empire Strikes Back or Bladerunner.

Madball 12-13-2003 02:02 PM

First time I saw bladerunner back in the VHS days I thought "What a pile of boring shit". I've seen it dozens of times since then and think it's one of the most awesome movie ever.

Star Wars, I think the new ones are cool. Episode 3 will be kick ass.

Anakin Look for EPIII

British TV series based on the book. Rather tongue-in-cheek, but quite funny if you could get into it. :)

I never could get into SO:2001. How boooooring.

Yea I've got this Photo book and biography of HR Giger here called "Taschen". Some crazy shite in it...That boy ain't right, but his art is cool as hell..

TheEnforcer 12-13-2003 03:35 PM

Two things.

First- Farscape is a tv show and NOT a movie like your title asks for. And while Farscape is a great Sci- fi show NOTHING beats out Deep Space Nine for a sci-fi, or any other type tv show for that matter, in terms of being great. best character you'll ever see on TV or the movies os the "plain and simple tailor" Garak. :thumbsup

Now, if you're talking movies it is Star Trek II- The Wrath of Khan!! :thumbsup

Garak was indeed a kickass twisted fuck and DS9 IS the best sci-fi series ever made.

As far as movies i'd say Blade Runner is up there with Star Trek: First Contact and Dune

Supposedly only in the last 10-15 minutes of the movie. The outfit will look different from his EP4-6 they say, maybe he doesn't wear a helmet just the breathing mask. Much more than Vader I'm looking forward to seeing Sidious in action. Supposedly he will help take Mace Windu apart.

I hope Vader slays the Jedi younglings in the Jedi temple, one by one. That would be awesome.

Rictor 12-13-2003 04:56 PM

Okay, the holy trinity of Star Wars, Empire Strike Back, and ROJ, of course.

Also, high on my list is Close Encounters of the Third Kind, War Games, Transformers: The Movie, Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few favorites.

Best TV series is Stargate. It was a decent movie too. No wait...best tv series would be the oringinal Twilite Zone.

dig420 12-13-2003 04:56 PM

Too many good movies, too hard to make a list

TV shows gotta be Lexx and ST:TNG

evildick 12-13-2003 05:30 PM

Total Recall was pretty good in its time. I always kinda liked the original Planet of the Apes movie too with Heston. (I guess that would be considered sci-fi)

FTVGirls 12-13-2003 05:37 PM

A lot of good movies listed, three thats missing on the list I enjoyed was Starship Troopers, Krull, & John Carpenter's The Thing.

When I was a kid I loved Krull, then I rented it a year or so ago and couldn't believe it was the same movie...it had some cool concepts, but the ending is a big cluster-fuck!
The thing scared the hell out of me back in the day!

Forgot about Conan! The first one was a classic. Conan the Destroyer kinda fucked things up though, but I guess most sequels do.

Crom! Conan the Barbarian was great, but Wilt Chamberlain should have stuck with B-Ball and fuckin, and he was the coolest character in "the destroyer"
The chick was a hottie....

Now Ice Pirates..that movie had it all..even Robert Uric
